First time here, and we were so happy we gave it a try for lunch. Had the special of the day- BLT with fries. This is a large sandwich loaded with crisp bacon. The fries were also hot and seasoned well. Also, had the famous cheese steak. This was huge and loaded with rib eye, onions, peppers and mushrooms. Just really good. Love the Cole Slaw. Honestly, I can't remember when I have had such awesome coleslaw. Also love the Dill pickle slices. I think they said they re-marinate them to make them spicy. Our server took really good care of us.
Always amazed but never surprised! That means no matter what I try on the menu the food is great! The staff are always top notch friendly. A great spot to try.... you'll be back. The roasted wings and French onion are a party for your taste buds...enjoy

Ordered out first time since the ownership change, and the food was excellent. We did appetizer dinner tonight with the oven roasted wings, potato slices, and the Greek salad. My, my, my, no complaints at all, the wings and onions were the best, add the potato slices, which were awesome, Greek salad was perfect... will be showing up for prime rib for sure!
First time here in a while. Had the California club flat bread which was good but it is the exceptional service I got from Stephanie at the bar that will bring me back. She was super sweet and efficient...

Delicious food and drinks, and the most friendly staff. My husband and I loved the fried mushrooms.

Overall very disappointing experience. The bar top was very dirty and run with ants and the bartender explained it was because someone else worked the day before and didn’t clean. Ordered a manhattan with Maker’s whiskey and it was not made correctly- came out clear. Finally the icing on the cake was the “Famous Cheesesteak” wrap. One was fine, but the other was filled with so much grease that it was impossible to eat. So greasy the wrap just fell apart and you can see the soup of grease in the picture. The bartender suggested giving us bread to soak up the grease or just putting the food to go instead of having it remade or suggesting something different. Needless to say we won’t be returning.

Great Philly cheesesteak with onions. Food was very good! Service was excellent too. Restaurant was featured on Tampa Bay Fox 13 morning news. Place busier than normal and staff handled it very well.
The menu has a variety of items from sandwiches, to steaks, appetizers and more. We ordered the New York strip and filet. The meal comes with salad and side. My filet was cooked nicely and had a nice flavor. The NY strip was an end cut with too much fat and was tough. The potato was large and good. The salads were small with no variety of ingredients. Their homemade dressings are excellent. Our server started out by saying they were under new management and the past management had let the Restuarant decline. We had not been there before and felt this statement was not needed. The Restuarant seems to be geared more toward the bar, appetizers and their Philly steak sandwich from what we could tell by those around us ordering. Management did check on our meal and service twice which was positive.
Attended the soft opening for the ownership group coming back. After coming in 4 months ago and being extremely disappointed, we were very happy that experience was not repeated. The appetizers (French Onion Soup, Tavern Chips, Fried Mushrooms) were all very flavorful and satisfying. The main meal was the (Meatloaf and Korean Tacos) both of which were again, packed with flavor, well cooked and did not disappoint. The Desert was rediculous in size and flavor. The cheesecake with the lemon blueberry drizzle was pretty awesome as was the chocolate cake (better be a chocolate lover). At the end, we ordered more than we needed to see if it all had changed and it did, for the BETTER! the menu is varied and has something for everyone. The check at the end was also a little bit of a surprise. Based on the quality of meal and portions, I feel that we received a very good deal for sure. We will be back to test the other items on the menu. So glad Big Jim is back!! Chef, Wait staf and management, keep up the great transition!
Dined with visiting family after the holiday and we sampled many appetizers and cocktails. Wood fired wings were an awesome experience. Ordered samples of several sandwiches and they too did not disappoint!! Two thumbs up!!

My husband & I went there just a few days ago. I ordered a steak. It tasted weird. Like the meat itself was no good to be cooked. My husband tasted it & agreed. The kind waitress asked what else I wanted. I ordered a cheese steak. We wanted to let the manager know there was something wrong with the steak quality wise/ *food safety-wise*. My husband ordered 2 apps, a salad, & a meal for himself. By the time I returned the steak, & by the time I got my cheese steak, with the waitress having to confer with her manager between all this, to make the order changes, & We had been sitting there for 1 hour & 40 min. We were nice & polite the entire time, but at this point, I asked our waitress to just put it in a to-go box; Husband now full, tired, annoyed, me- starving, but ready to leave. There were only 3 other tables with 1 to 2 people there, at the time. They weren't busy at all. The manager did not come speak to us. Did not offer anything. Did not credit my meal. We had been sitting there for 1 hour & 40 min. Instead, manager "Karen" let the waitress deduct the $7 difference in the meals I ordered. They should not be serving steak this night! it was stale or something! I also heard Karen talking about us on the other side of the wall. There was also a waitress smoking right out front by the door. They weren't busy. SO today I call, asking for the contact EMail for the head manager or the owner info. I was put on hold, then Karen answers the phone. I asked nicely if I may have her boss's contact Email or the owners, because I don't know who to relay this complaint to. SHe said "No way, i don't know who you are, & I am not giving out that information. Good Bye". & hung up on me. We spent alot of money there that night, as well as many other nights, & many occasions with friends or family there in the past. I'm so insulted that we don't matter as customers to an establishment such as this & that this nasty attitude'd manager is aloud to behave this way. The waitress was also clearly embarrassed. But we tipped her nicely. the rest of the experience- Disgusting. &* strange how, online, there's zero contact info for such things. Only their ph#. What a let down.
Used to have Boom-boom Shrimp (5) that were large and delicious. Now serving 7 scrawny, frozen fried Buffalo Shrimp -- for $15! -- that were so tough and flavorless, we complained. Went back for comp dish next day, and had 2 beers while waiting. Bartender was rude, insulting, and said we "should eat at McDonald's," and that our comp dish we were getting for the crap food we got before, was "free food." So we walked on the beers AND the comp food after trying 3 times to pay for beers. Will never go back to a long-time favorite place.
been coming to jims for a long time our last visit was not good. i alwats loved the philly steak. but the portions on the sandwich was megor and the price went up?.wife had the rack of ribs 1/2 of them were nothing but fat .
Thought it was seafood, steakhouse. I was wrong. Ordered filet mignon, and Angus steaks. They brought out 2 dollar tree steaks. Still didn't complain, all we asked waitress for was missing dinner salads. $35 and $22 steak dinners. (Charged me $25 for Angus, menu said $22). We'll instead of coming back with dinner salads waitress came back with manager. Things went downhill fast. I was told to leave restaurant. I started to leave and was threatened with police being called if I don't pay my bill, for the garbage they serve. Make up your mind. You can't fix stupid. Horrible plus attitude. Why didn't waitress explain situation to manager. Then a second lady manager came out. What the hell were you two ladies doing before you came our acting tough. Why don't you train your staff, 2 Lady managers, instead of waiting for a problem to bust out. We were the only table being served in entire restaurant

I am writing this review in hopes that the “new owners” will listen to the opinion of long time locals that have enjoyed Jim’s for many years.
My wife and I have been a huge fan until everything changed. Okay..maybe once, twice and the final third time was as we were walking out we said to each other we won’t be coming back here again was this evening when the Phillycheese steaks were again a huge disappointment.
I spoke to our server who was extremely nice and apologetic I asked why are there so many empty tables when in the past the restaurant was typically busy??
He replied “it’s not the same as before.”
Furthermore I was informed that the new owners discontinued the daily specials last week during the weekdays that encourages customers to come to your restaurant on typically slower nights .
Well MANAGEMENT… you will soon find out that empty tables and lost customers are difficult to regain which directly flows down to lost revenues for YOU and less tips for your SERVERS.
These days customers have many options out there who are running daily specials especially in slow season. It is the locals who come in for the daily weekday deals that will keep your tables full and your servers happy.
I sincerely hope this message makes it to the new owner to make Jims Famous Steaks Great Again.
