“Still Excellent After all These Years Four of us enjoyed an excellent meal at Café Largo. It was Wednesday and the place only had a couple of other tables full—one was a large birthday party. The restaurant is clean and inviting. Our server, the wife of the couple that owns the place, was very sweet and helpful. The food was all delicious. We shared an order of the appetizer scallops and the foie gras. For mains we had a fantastic veal chop and delicious lamb chops and a couple branzino. For dessert we enjoyed the chocolate mousse, the ice caffe glace and their homemade ice cream--all wonderful. It’s nice to have an option for some excellent wines. The Margaux was very good, but the Pomerol was even better. Café Largo is an excellent choice for any kind of special event dinner. I hope it won’t be too long until our next visit.”

“We are located in Ohio but stumbled upon this gem while on vacation. They were very busy with a large scheduled order (like 50+ pizzas large!) but the owner welcomed us in, got our kids some games to play, made THE BEST chicken parm sandwich we’ve ever had, and treated us to a few warm chocolate chip cookies! Outstanding food and even more outstanding service. No surprise that when we spoke to him further, he’s from Brunswick, OH, just up the road from us! So this is a shout out to Pinellas Pizza! If you’re in the Clearwater, FL area - make a stop!!”

“Típico Café Latino (Típico Latino Restaurant), 566 Barton Boulevard, Rockledge, Florida- 5-Stars Although the Hispanic population in Brevard County as of 2022 is a mere 11.6%, their restaurants must make up 35% of the restaurant inventory. Now that I have dined at so many Latin establishments, I feel I am starting to discern the good, the bad, and the horrific. Recently I found myself in Rockledge walking into the unassuming Tipico Café Latino. The place didn't look like much to me at first, and since the most obvious definition of "típico" in English means "typical," I was concerned. Later when I found out that "típico" when referring to food is more about how such a dish represents the most famous local flavor of a region, the name made perfect sense. The food prepared here is the real deal and it's truly outstanding. Don't let the ambiance of this small saloon deter you. Elise is the owner and personally sees to the comfort of her guests. She and her chef are from the Dominican Republic, and their website states that Dominican cuisine has been influenced by indigenous Dominicans as well as settlers from Spain, Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Canary Islands, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Haiti (next door on the shared island of Hispaniola), and Hungary. They further indicate that flavor contributions have been made by Sephardic Jews, slaves brought to the Republic by the French in the 17th Century, and freed Blacks who fled from the United States in the 19th Century. From the Menú Típica Latino, I ordered the Típico Fried Platter, and I strongly suggest you do the same. It has everything: Fried Pork, Fried Chicken, Longaniza (Spanish sausage), Salami, Fried Cheese, Casava, and Tostones. Amazing! As the Dominican Republic is only 57 miles southeast of Cuba, it is not surprising that there are also a few expressly classic Cuban dishes on the menu. One of these is the Ropa Vieja/ Shredded Stewed Beef and Vegetables. The rice accompanying this "típica" Cuban dish was cooked perfectly. The beef itself was so tender, its juices so flavorful, that for a moment I experienced zoanthropy, becoming one of Pavlov's dogs salivating just remembering this experience. I pull myself together, remembering I am a human man, and wipe the slobber off my jowls with a towel. THIS IS A BIG BOY MUST TRY! The Big Boy says, "Go see Elise, try the Típico Fried Platter, and, oh yeah, bring your appetite."”

“We've been going to Luke's Sports Shack Bar & Grill for almost 3 years. we started going for trivia and our team grew as we added family, then new friends. We've gone consistently most Tuesdays ever since. In the last month or two they got new owners and there have been some inconsistencies with food and service but we were giving them time to work it out. Last week they were out of several items (including french fries) and it took an hour and 20 minutes to get our food. I had to get a box because trivia was over and our group was leaving. Today they were only serving burgers and ground beef tacos. They normally have a 3 page menu. My friend ordered tacos and they were cold. I'm not sure what the owner's plan is, but if he keeps it up, they won't be open much longer. 11/19/24”

“This place has really gone down hill. Used to be our go to pizza spot but now it’s mediocre at best. Selected delivery and was quoted 45-1hr, which was no problem for us. We live less than 5 mins away. At an 1.15 mins, I called to check the status, they said on the way. No problem. It happens. We ordered a Greek Salad with chicken and it was 100 percent canned chicken (gross!!). We ordered chicken tenders and fries. They sent nuggets and no fries (they had both nuggets and tenders on the menu). Once the food was delivered we realized we didn’t have our fries so called back and they said “we can get those out to you in a bit” I inquired what a bit was, I said we already waited an 1.15 mins he said I’m not sure but more than 15 mins. I said we were quoted 45-1hr originally and the order is wrong. He proceeded to argue with me and said well our delivery time is 1.20 that’s fine but not what we were told. So decided to take the credit instead of having them delivered. The guy was not even remotely apologetic like I was bothering him for making my order wrong. Had the customer service been poor but the food was at least good I wouldn’t have to write a bad review. Sad! 10/10 don’t recommend.”

“Pretty Good We’ve been here for to-go orders in the past. I have lower expectations for to-go since the food is never as hot and fresh as at the restaurant. This time we ate in the restaurant. The restaurant is clean and bright and the service is good. We started with the Bao Bun sampler which was delicious. We moved on to the appetizer sampler. The chicken wings and spring rolls were pretty good. The shrimp and Crab Rangoon were only OK and I wouldn’t get them again. Moving on, the Spot Special Banh Mi was very good. The Eye Round Pho was only OK and had a thin flavor. The Chicken Stir Fry with Vegetables was pretty good with a nice flavor, but the chicken had an overly-tenderized and spongy consistency. So, it was hit and miss. I would go back for the Bao Buns and the Banh Mi.”

“Linda was our server. Despite the fact that she had numerous tables (I could tell by counting the servers they were short) she was excellent. I could see no stress in her. She took our order quickly, was very attentive to our drinks, extremely polite, courteous and professional. I would visit this place again strictly because of this server! “In town on vacation and was looking for a soul food restaurant. We found TJ's and they didn't disappoint. We had oxtails that were fall off the bone good and tasty. The sides of collards, black eyes peas and yellow rice were all good and seasoned. Looking for some comfort food....give TJ's a try. We will definitely visit again.”

“I've gone to this location several times. Service can get a little slow during busy times but I find this more of a management problem of not properly staffing during peak times. Donuts are best before noon. Coffee is excellent. If getting ice coffee ask them to stir in the desired sugar before adding ice so that the sugar dissolves or use NutraSweet which is a powder and will dissolve in ice.”

“Right off Bat, I like their online ordering. 2. They don't try to Gouge the Customer for 2-6$ tips. China One, tries to Gouge you $15.00s in tip , fees and charges. You get one dish and it's over $30.00s.. I 100% endorse this company. They don't try to rip you off like China one... The food is great here, and they always give us lots of extras. Wonderful restaurant... Keep it up guys! Your feeding the masses and not taking advantage of your customers. Thank you, you guys are awesome”

“First time trying China Gate and I have to say it’s by far the best in Largo. We got the General Tso’s chicken combo and Sweet & Sour chicken combo. The General T chicken was boneless thighs and it was fresh and tasted great. It had the perfect amount of heat. Came with fried rice & an egg roll. Both solid. My wife liked the sweet & sour chicken. We will definitely be back.”
