I used to love this place! Ordered for years very, very often. They had the best food, tho expensive, given my major health issues…. it was worth it to me. But they changed ownership and everything changed.
Cheaper packaging but the taste of the food was the biggest thing that changed! Nothing tasted the same anymore… so sadly I stopped ordering. I posted on one of their posts about it on social media, not being rude at all, making a comment about the change… and then they decided to erase my comments and block me… which says a lot!! Looking at other things since the new ownership has taken over… they say they love feedback from customers… to help make things better… but they don’t really. Blocking and deleting comments says a lot. Then to come on here and see so many poor reviews in the last year of the change… it wasn’t just me that could tell the difference in the food and quality. Sure wish the original owners never sold. :(
Such a rip off. You get stuff that won’t even pass as substantial for an appetizer. The packaging makes it exhausting and you feel like all that work just to get to small portions
I have ordered from POTG since I started an AIP diet in 2023. The food was great, they were decent portions for one person, quality foods. and all of it came in sealed trays with nutrition information and directions to reheat in the oven. I ordered from them for nearly a year with free shipping. Suddenly, last fall, they seemed to have a significant change in the product. The portion sizes shrank (from 10 chicken nuggets to 4! From what seemed like a full sweet potato to not even a half. From a full bowl of breakfast hash to a half a bowl of hash.), the meat had a lot more fat in it (the five small strips of steak were practically just fat), the food was all tightly wrapped in plastic with no nutritional information nor reheating instructions on many dishes, online the directions say to microwave the meals in plastic (anyone on an AIP diet knows this is not AIP), and shipping went from being included for large orders to costing over $40! For the price of each item, you would expect to get a full meal out of the dish and you used to. Now, it’s hardly a snack size. This is all so very sad because it had been an amazing find for those on the AIP diet like myself. I ordered at every holiday, so I would have good food to eat while my family ate our traditional favorites, and I’d also order randomly throughout the year to have backup meal options for when I’d travel, have busy weeks at work, or experience debilitating autoimmune fatigue. I ordered again recently for the holiday and the portion sizes are still unbelievably small to call them a “meal”, and shipping was again more than $40. This is just such a disappointment. Back on the hunt for a good company with good providers that actually will stay loyal to their loyal customers.

I have a $1430 gift code/credit from 9 years ago that I’ve not had an opportunity to use. It did NOT have an expiration date. I’m finally settled & went to the site to place an order & the gift code wouldn't work. I forwarded my email proof of the gift code/credit but they are saying they recently bought this company so they won’t honor my gift code/credit but will give me 20% off two orders… as though that’s reasonable compensation for $1430. I was obviously a good customer once upon a time & planned on using them again but obviously that’s not going to happen.
I have a recurring subscription for 16+ meals weekly, yet the delivery and the use of ice packs have become completely below standard. My food was ordered on the 15th, sent out on the 16th, and was supposed to arrive on the 18th. I kept sending emails to your customer support and had to call FedEx to understand what happened to my package. They informed me that POTG chose a cheaper delivery option, hence the delay.
So, from what I understand, I pay $40 USD plus an additional $8 for so-called insurance and delivery charges, yet my food arrives hot, spoiled, and rotten? Your customer service doesn’t answer the phone as it goes to voicemail, and they don’t respond to emails, despite numerous ones with picture evidence. Your operations and customer service team should have fixed the issue when I first brought it up on Friday, after my first batch of soups arrived defrosted and I informed them that FedEx is saying that the second much larger part of my order won’t arrive till Monday. Yet, you instructed me to wait and let you know if it didn’t arrive, assuring me you’d fix it by Monday.
Well, Monday has come, and after sending numerous emails over Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, I still have no response or solution, leaving me stuck with rotten food.
Like the other reviewers, am asking what happened? There is no longer any meal package sleeve or heating instructions. The food is shrink wrapped, unidentifiable and appears to be in smaller portions,. There’s no dry ice for transport plus the 8 meals look like they were just literally thrown into the box without any organization. Not appealing or what you’d expect for a $200+ order. The prices - especially the $41 shipping and protection program - make it just not worth it anymore for the convenience. Definitely my last order after being a customer for many years.
I have been auto-shipping for a couple years now. POTG is the only prepared AIP option I have found when I need meals in a pinch and is pricey. I have leaky gut due to mold toxicity and a ton of food sensitivities due to that so there are very few items on the menu I can have.
I have reached out to the company a handful of times asking for more garlic free options due to my sensitivities. Received a positive response, yet there are now less garlic free options. POTG seemed to be an accessible company to those with autoimmune issues, but is not that accessible.
And they got rid of the cakes which I loved to keep one on hand so I wouldn't miss out on celebrations ?
What happened?!?! I have been a loyal, happy customer for almost 10 years. Ever since the company made the move to California, everything changed. Did ownership change? The portions are smaller, the heating instructions are missing, and the quality of the food and packaging went downhill. In my last order, I ordered mojo chicken empanadas, and received cuban pork empanadas in a package that said mojo chicken. Several items were cold, but not frozen. The order I received today, every single item was just cool to the touch, not even cold, and definitely not frozen. I don’t feel comfortable eating anything with meat that arrives barely cool to the touch. Feels like food poisoning waiting to happen. The items are way to expensive for this to be the case, and not once, but my last several orders. This may be my last purchase, which stinks because I have 2 autoimmune diseases and it’s been so helpful to have compliant, healthy, delicious food. Can someone advise?
POTG quality has gone downhill with the change in packaging. The meals look unappetizing in their shrink wrap, hard to get out of the package & throwing it all in a pan for the price paid is insane. We tend to eat with our eyes, but mine are not at all happy with the meals. The tortilla size shrunk to 4" and are thick. They told me the kitchen is the same & would put cooking instructions on the items. This order had some instructions, but not all. I have been a subscriber for a couple of years & am sad to be looking for alternatives.

As a Florida local, the food no longer comes from Florida, it was shipped from California and there are no labels on the packages (no reheating instructions, no nutritional value). I have been calling to find out if the chicken is pasture raised or organic or both, but no one answers. I haven’t eaten any meals yet, but I sure hope the quality of food hasn’t gone down with these odd changes.
Been ordering for years and had great experiences, but this last order and since they changed their website has been a disaster. I've emailed three or four times called and left messages but haven't heard a thing. At this point, I'll be filling a dispute with the credit card company to get our money back.Maybe this review might get someone to call us back. Finally update: What we received was definitely different than before. The box didn't even ship from Florida it shipped from California. The items didn't have nutritional facts or ingredients listed. If you want the old paleo on the go, it's gone, it seems. From what I saw, they sold the business, and the new owners are still transitioning or haven't figured the food yet. I will say, though, as luck has it, we order now through Pete's. Much cheaper and customer service is like the old Paleo. Sorry to see this company go.Update 1: Received a call back right after this review. Thought it was worked out to have them ship everything but the two items they didn't have in stock. But we received a giftcard for the entire order. This order was a subscription and now that we are ordering a "one time box" everything is marked up. So now we can't even get the same amount of food. We spent almost $2,000 here through these subscriptions. Since this review is the only place we can seem to get a response, please ship the order without the two out of stock items. Also, your "new number" has the default Google voip recording and doesn't mention the business when voicemail picks up.
I paid $240 for 5-6 days worth of meals and haven’t received anything yet. It’s been a week and a half now. The order shows ‘processing’ since Nov 5! We were depending on the paleo on the go meals last week and this week but haven’t received our package yet, which disrupted our plans. I wrote an email to their customer service and even tried calling them several times, but haven’t heard anything from anyone yet. Really disappointed. At the very least, I want my money back.
No dinners to choose from. Terrible website. Near impossible to order.
Not at ALL impressed. I was SO excited to find this service for my lunches since preparing a healthy meal for 1 can be a challenge. However, the quality is NOT there, especially for the price. This is a picture of chicken nuggets and sweet potato fries for 17.97 cents. This tasted ok (it was the best thing I had so far), but for the price, not at all worth it! I mean 18.00 for 10 LITTLE nuggets and 19 pieces of sweet potato is almost a rip off. Then there was the flavor of the meals I did try.....I was less than impressed. I had the beef pot pie- which was supposed to be 2 servings for 23.00 and it was ONE small pot pie- the single sized pot pies you get at the grocery store. It was SO so rich that it was hard to even eat it. The Glazed mongolian meatballs were horrible! They tasted like I was eating a salt block- one bite and the whole thing went into the trash. The Turkey pasta literally had a vomit flavor- since I am not keen on eating puke, that went into the trash after 1 bite. I called to try to get any of my money back and explained all above and I was refused. So I paid 328 dollars for something to give to my trashcan. The apple cobbler dessert wasn't bad but had sour parts in it- I assume from the cranberries. Overall, they do not stand by their product and the food portions are way too small for what you are paying. To then pay at extra 9.00 on already overly priced small portions that are not even tasteful "just in case" the box comes with my food defrosted is not really good customer service in my book. Also, when a customer calls and says the food taste like a salt block and your sodium level in that dish supports that and you do not offer any kind of financial compensation other than the 15.00 discount I should have gotten for signing up to begin with (one that I was told before I could not get until my 2nd order mind you), then this is not at all standing by your product! This food is basically over priced shrinkflation that is not at all tasty unless you like to eat salt and puke. Never again and I would not suggest this company at all!
