I read that health department shut them down the day after I visited. Won't be going back.

Won’t be back as they now charge for chips and salsa above one. We visited once a week and will take our business to

Nasty. This used to be one of our favorite places to gather on a Friday with our neighbors and friends. Only because we could always get a big table, liked the cold margaritas and the wait staff. The food has never been over the top good. Just average. Chips were often stale, food cold or lacking flavor. Ask for picante salsa if you want heat. This place has been cited and CLOSED multiple times by the health deportment. We had 14 kills (flies) one evening sitting in a booth next to a window. Often the food arrived cold — even the queso dip. The assistant manager (relative of owner) is an arrogant little man with an awful attitude. After going there more than a dozen times and complaining afterwards we all decided to take our money elsewhere. We’re DONE with this place. There are better authentic Mexican restaurants out there. We found Marcela’s in Clearwater to have the BEST tasting food. Small, short staffed but food is what really matters. Delicious drinks are all handmade not premixed. We love their micheladas.

We didn't like the food the first time we went, but due to spring break, we couldn't get into our favorite place and since we were craving Mexican food, we decided to give Santa Fe another chance. I had the chicken enchiladas with rice and beans and my first bite was very disappointing and reminded me why I didn't like it the first time. I've eaten at a lot of Mexican restaurants and the food here is the worst-tasting I've had. To me, it has no resemblance of Mexican flavor and tastes kind of stale or bland or something. The beans were runny and I guess I'm just not a fan of Mole sauce, but it ruined the enchiladas for me (which are normally my favorite). My friend said her beef was burnt and her medium margarita was $13.00, which was probably more than her meal. Definitely will not be back.

Normally we eat in the restaurant, but decided to order picked out was $66.00, however when we got home it was a surprise to us. The prices were increased 4.00 per dinner n an additional.25 was also added per dinner, we ordered 2 combination dinner #10 and #23 which clearly priced at $8.00 on the menu but we're charged 12.00 each plus.25 on reach , we also ordered 2 tex mex quesadillas which were clearly at 10.00 on the menu but was charged 14.00 plus.25 per meal. In addition to that they also charged me an additional $2.39 for not paying with cash.Additional items orderSide of rice $4.00Queso $4.50Not to mention our food was not prepared as it normally is in the restaurantThe tacos were hard not crispyAnd quesadillas were missing stuffI tried to call to talk to them n the women on the phone didn't even wish to discuss it. I wouldn't of called if something wasn't wrong yet the didn't even want to listen after charging me $66.00 for awful food. We always eaten here in the restaurant never ever had an issue... But tonight's dinner was awful you would think they like to know when something not right.

My server, Miguel, was great. The regular and hot salsas were very good, especially when mixed together. The chips, however, were stale. My medium regular margarita cost more than my dinner and tasted bitter instead of tasting like tart limes. My Mexico Loco dish had a very good ground beef taco, 3 jalapeno poppers (not homemade that I could tell), and a shredded beef chimichanga which would have been great except it was smothered in sauce taking away the crispness of a standard chimichanga. Also included was guacamole, sour cream, lettuce and tomato. Though I might try again, I'm only in this area about twice a year, so not likely.

Service was terrible , food was good. Definitely should hold training for the entire wait staff. Bad service destroys the enjoyment of good food.

A couple of waiters didn't understand us. We were a table of 8 and were put in a little area with half wall and we had to get their attention 24mins later

The Mexican stew was excellent. The Salsa was really good . The service was great too. This time my Santa fe special was very good. Service was a little slow.
