Mar Vista Dockside Restaurant & Pub

We recently moved to Sarasota. We found this gem and had a great evening. We loved dining under the trees outside. We are so happy to have found an al fresco restaurant close to our house. The food was outstanding. Fresh-spicy tastes and fresh healthy ingredients. We enjoyed the fresh food. Also, the mixed drinks were fresh and tasty. Above all, we experienced the most amazing service. Christopher took super care of us, explained the food in every detail and was super friendly and caring. We definitely will come back and make this one of our regular happy places.

A lot of restaurants with awesome water views sometimes sacrifice service and/or their food but not Mar Vista! Always a delicious meal and Douglas was our excellent server on our last visit Bonus: Love that Mar Vista now takes reservations!

The ambience and the food were wonderful. My only criticism would be that our server was not up-to-date on what was on the menu . He had to go back to the kitchen a couple of times to get information on things we were interested in.. For example, tell us he didn't think they were making the pumpkin cheesecake anymore, although it was on the menu . Didn't really ask us if he wanted it, but came back with a piece and charged us for it..

We love this restaurant. The food is always delicious and fresh fish never disappoints! The combination of flavors and sauces are always a welcomed change. We had the seafood trio and it was so good. The grouper and calamari were also excellent. I have to say our server Christopher was very attentive in the best way! The overall team is very friendly and caring. No doubt we will be back again soon. Definitely sit under the trees - it's magical.

Definitely sit in the Tree section, weather permitting. Great fun watching the boating traffic as u enjoy your meal. Staff was super.

Mar Vista is such a special place to eat outside facing the bay..great food, and amazing service! One of our first stops when we come to visit..highly recommended!!!❤️👏

I love coming here in October when there are no crowds. We had Ryan as our waiter and he was fantastic and the brisket tacos were amazing. I'm already wanting to go back for more. Keep up the good work, Mar Vista.

I’ve always liked it here when we’re looking to stop and eat somewhere by boat, but yesterday Theresa (at the bar) went above and beyond. We stopped in for my birthday for a quick round of drinks, but ended up staying for some apps too. Theresa was super nice and accommodating. Before we left, she even snuck in a birthday key lime pie 😊 Thank you!

True slice of paradise. Had an amazing time here yesterday. Got a great seat by the water thanks to Brian. This place has very good ambiance. Peaceful energy, good vibes, amazing service and delicious food & drinks. We were celebrating my fiancé’s birthday and our server, Chase, treated us very well and made our experience special. We will be back.

We love this restaurant! Eating on the bay with our feet in the sand is perfect! Very good food and fun cocktails!
The staff is amazing! We had a slight issue with one meal today (1 of 6 dishes). I causally mentioned to our server. Our server, chef and manager were overly apologetic. They went above and beyond to correct the issue.

Mar Vista is such a wonderful place. The prices are a bit high, but it compensates for the great food and the amazing outdoor views. You're eating right on the water with a gorgeous outdoor setting. Very unique and very beautiful!
