Post hurricane visit today at Mar Vista. This has always been one of our favorites but now that they’ve reopened after the hurricanes, it’s even better, if that’s possible! My steak was cooked to perfection and hubbys fish was spectacular! Service was great by Theresa! Everything is fresh and new and clean but with the unique charm of our old Mar Vista! Fantastic. Must not miss on a visit to our lovely slice of paradise!

We ate lunch with our toes in the sand! A beautiful view, with a beach garden feel. Under construction from the storms, but a great menu and drinks.

We had a wonderful dining experience! Our first staff member that was friendly and helpful was Brandon, the valet driver. There’s an extensive drink and food menu. Our server Chase, was great! He was attentive, personable and very knowledgeable of the menu. The seafood is fresh and cooked to perfection. The cocktails were delicious too. The outdoor seating area was very cool and comfortable. The grouper was flaky and tasty. The crab cake sandwich was outstanding too. My only complaint was the grouper serving was on the small side for a dinner entree, but it was wonderful.

Beautiful atmosphere and restaurant. The food was wonderful. We went on a Wednesday night and although the restaurant was slow, maybe 6 other tables, service was not quick. Our server was polite and helpful until we got the check. We asked if we could split the check 50/50 for our 2 families of 3. He said he didn't know how to do that. We then asked if he could just split the bills and he asked how he would know what we got. While waiting for him to reprint the check I used the restroom. A man came out of the kitchen wearing an apron and didn't take it off to use the urinal. You can guess about his hardwashing... The kitchen was probably closed as it was close to their closing time but that left a lasting impression to say the least.

Been dying to try this place and it did not disappoint. Douglas was our waiter and he was excellent. We sat under the trees looking out at the water. Started with sweet and spicy shrimp which was a delicious appetizer with plenty of shrimp. I then had the island trio of shrimp scallops and fresh catch but the mango lime sauce brought it all together. Absolutely wonderful atmosphere and food..

Been here 5 or 6 times in the last year, the location and ambience are amazing and the reason we go back. Unfortunately we have been unlucky with servers not being friendly and actually making us uncomfortable. Tonight may have been the worse, he was almost rude and felt like he needed to school us if we had a question. It was very weird, everyone at the table commented on it. An example: when I mentioned that the spicy hand cut potato chips were plain and actually had no spice he said well some people think ketchup is too spicy!! Excuse me??!! We asked how much the catch of the day was and he didn’t know, and seemed displeased we had asked, said I’ll need to enter it in the system before I’ll know. OK do that then it’s your job!! There were probably 10 more inappropriate comments and responses. The POS system the servers have to wear on their wrist and enter everything on table side does not make it feel like a fine dining experience, more like a fast food restaurant (not the server’s fault but the owners, I don’t remember it last time so I’m assuming it’s the new owners). Overall food and drinks were good, with exception of the grouper fingers (which were actually bites), it was $18 for 5 tiny pieces and even worse only 3 were bites containing grouper, the other 2 were 80% batter:( Wish I had taken a picture because It was Really bad)
Even though we love the location under the trees, and always take visitors there I’m just not sure I would go back, mainly because of the unfriendly, unprofessional servers we’ve encountered several times and also the food is just not that great compared to a lot of other AMI restaurants

Enjoyed an excellent Sunday lunch just sitting at the Mar
Vista bar! Our bartender, Bobby, was excellent, friendly and very accommodating! Bobby provided us a complete overview of the menu since it was our first visit. Bobby is a wonderful & very friendly person, we enjoyed our lunch and the opportunity to talk with Bobby! We will definitely be back! Highly recommended! Bonnie & Don

Our server, Sharon, was nothing less than incredible! She knew the menu and exactly how to guide our culinary delight - and she was spot on! Oysters, Peel n Eat Shrimp and fabulous Mar Vista Tater Tots! If I could, I would steal Sharon away to our newest resort on LBK… She has what it takes to make a meal a memory! Thank you Mar Vista and especially - Thank you, Sharon!!
