Mar Vista Dockside Restaurant & Pub

I had not been here since the renovation. The remodel is fantastic but the food was just ok, at best. The calamari and the scallops were not good. The fettuccine with mushrooms was actually the best entree that we had which is not great for a seafood restaurant on the water.

Great food atmosphere and the view outstanding. We always plan a couple nights here when visiting the area

We had an excellent experience at Mar Vista! From the valet parking, the service from our server and the meal itself! Excellent food, the meal was delicious! The Brussels sprouts and the seafood trio was amazing! We were attended to as soon as we sat at our table and appetizers and mains were served quickly with minimal wait times which is always appreciated! The atmosphere and ambience at this restaurant is unique and worth experiencing! Especially the outdoor dining area! Its a must visit to Mar Vista!

Great location and views, average food, good service, expensive. Overall not a good value for the cost.

Just OK I'm afraid. Menu rather standard, limited wine selection. Food was mixed. Chowder lukewarm (but nice amount of shrimp, clams, etc). Sandwich was messy but really really good. Nice atmosphere and good view although rather cool even with heat lamps. Service was really dismal. Waitress was overly friendly but disappeared for big breaks and when on the scene drained our bottle of wine in just two pours - yeah a like a 9 oz glass of wine all at once. Expensive for what it was. Had 3 other dinners here on Longboat and this was most expensive and least enjoyable.

Carrie our waitress was so attentive! Excellent service. The food was delicious, best crab legs we ever had . Definitely recommend and will come again

We sat in the trees with a Bay view. Ambience is great. Waiter was knowledgeable and friendly, providing great service food is solid and at reasonable prices. We had a delicious featured salad, grouper tacos and blackjack sandwich. All fresh and expertly prepared. Love it here!

We sat in the Tree area right by the water. Was beautiful . We were a little chilly so our waiter Christopher lit the heat lamp for us. Food was good and the view was amazing. We will be back for sure.

Love the setting, watched dolphins frolic as we enjoyed our sandwich and great fries & slaw . Hubby was disappointed that he couldn't really taste the oysters on his po'boy, otherwise it was perfect!

Food was great. Our waiter was very knowledgable when asking questions; but as the restaurant got busier he seemed to get lost too many other customers. We wanted 1 key lime pie dessert and it close to 10-15 minutes to get it. Other than that.... Very good

This restaurant has the most beautiful natural environment of any in the region, under the twisted Buttonwood trees along the shoreline of Longboat Key. The service was warm and attentive, and the food was a very fresh take on seafood and vegetables. Healthy and delightful, I was still relishing it until the last bite. This is a special place with a mission, and mission accomplished!

The bachelorette party I was with came here for dinner one night. It was a great evening with dinner by the ocean. Our server Christopher was absolutely amazing. He brought us a heater and recommended great dishes like the appetizer tots and the jalapeno grouper. The absolutely shinning star of the entire meal was the waffle and ice cream. I cannot begin to explain how great this waffle was. I am still thinking about it a week later. Everything was great, but my biggest advice is to save room for this waffle and ice cream. I will be thinking about it for years. 10/10 the best waffle a pregnant woman could ever have

Delicious food and one of the best outdoor dining areas to have a meal with friends and family. I ate delicious food with a great drink about 2 feet from the sand and water, looking at a scenic bay, with the amazing Banyan trees and scenic lighting. They take reservations now and have valet parking. I highly recommend eating here.
