Don’t shy away from this hole in the wall family business because of mixed reviews, you can’t satisfy those who can’t be satisfied. I am one of those people who cannot be satisfied half the time, but open the doors and give it a try!I pulled up to the location with question marks all over the air as my spouse wanted to try this spot for sushi but the looks on the outside wasn’t screaming “fine establishment”. Contemplated going in but figured not to judge a book by its cover and if we didn’t like it, to treat it as a learning lesson.Need less to say I’m here with a good review for a good reason. We started with soups (egg drop and wonton) , probably the best egg drop soup I’ve ever had. The portion was delicate but worth the price. We picked an assortment of 4 different sushi rolls including the house specialty “adreanne” which turned out to be my favorite with a wonderful blend of savory, sweet, and a little salty from the soy sauce. Overall spent $55 + $15 tip and was well worth for a quick but delicious sushi lunch.I will definitely be going back to try out the loveboat for two which sadly we didn’t get to see. 9/10 would recommend, atmosphere is warming but could use a touch more of Japanese culture.

My bfs been eating here since the owners kid was little. I'm new to eating this type of food and absolutely fell in love! The fried rice goes with everything! The sashimi is amazing. Try the Adrian rolls. My first time eating raw fish and I am absolutely spoiled now!

This restaurant appears to be a family run small business. Heve been open for a long time. The food's really good and service is always friendly and on point too. My favorites are any of the sushi rolls and their house fried rice, but everything I've tried is very good. I get take out usually but have also dined there. It is clean, casual, and comfortable. It's a hidden gem that more people should know about!

My brother and I decided to try out Happy Teriyaki after our workout session. Although the restaurant is situated in Longwood, it's just a short five-minute drive from our gym in Sanford. We were happy to find that we were the only customers in the restaurant, and the quality of the food and service did not disappoint us. We started with miso soup and ginger salad, which were both delicious. The salad was perfect, with a generous amount of ginger dressing, but it may be too much for those who prefer a lighter dressing. The mussels on the menu caught my attention, and I was thrilled to finally find them after trying three other sushi spots in Sanford/Lake Mary. The salmon skin roll was cooked perfectly, with a crispy skin, just as I had requested. Although the spicy tuna roll was different than what I expected, it was still fresh and delicious. I think it was a regular tuna roll, but I didn't mind as I was pleased with the fresh tuna. We noticed that many people were ordering takeout, and it was worth the wait. Out of the three sushi spots we have tried in Sanford, Happy Teriyaki is the best one so far. While it may not compare to the sushi in California and Vegas, I am grateful for what we have here and will continue to explore other sushi spots in the area.

The food does not taste good and is way too expensive. The sweet and sour chicken combo was $17 and had FIVE pieces of chicken, and the fried rice was completely cold. The sushi I got had only cooked and fried shrimp in it but was still so fishy I could barely eat it. Nothing tasted good. Spent $40 and had to go get more food an hour later somewhere else, I am shocked by the experience and that this place has as good of reviews as it does. The restaurant is clean and the staff is nice, but I couldn’t recommend this to anyone.

I am fan of supporting small and local businesses. This restaurant proved me wrong. They are way over priced for quality and the portion they serve. The boat is barely enough for one person.They are also not professional treating the customers.When I read the reviews, I thought I was in a wrong place, this is the address that Google map took me and this is the restaurant.I’m not sure if this is the same place that other people are talking about.

The waitress was very nice, but could not get my order right and the food we got wasn't great... Wanted chicken teriyaki with steamed vegetables and white rice for my daughter, but they don't do that- I had to order the bento box with a side of vegetables. The chicken portion was small, dry, and chewy. The vegetables were salty. Maybe it wasn't a good night to go there but I won't be back again anyway.

This place is the best , from the super nice service to the very clean restaurant. The food blew my mind . I was looking at the photos and couldn’t decide because everything looked so great . Every bite was even better than the last one . I came to just get a quick meal and now I found my new favorite restaurant . I come from Louisiana and this is the best sushi I ever had in my life ! Wonderful people I wish them the best of success with this business very caring people and great service and they make sure you are satisfied with the food !
