Mr Empanada - VanDyke in Lutz

I always get empanadas from Ms Empanada in South Tampa. They fry everything right after you order it. I just ordered from this place through Uber and it's not the same. It tastes greasy and doesn't seem fresh because the empanadas are so soft. I was disappointed.

Mr. Empanada is always tasty but very unhappy that I ordered a 25 count of mini empanadas and was charged $51.60 (with tax $48 without taxes) for the tray. Upon entering the store for pick up the menu states $38 for the tray. When I questioned the $10 difference I was told that it was because of the online order as the man walked off while telling me. Not cool Mr. Empanada. I order food for clients on the daily and I’ve never been charged a $10 hike on the in store prices unless I went through a third party. My order was directly from your website.
Lesson learned: call and take time from staff to place my order so that I can get the in store price or don’t return as a customer.

I wasn’t really feeling it . I was looking for an ol skool taste. The taste of how ancestors prepared empanadas. I didn’t get that.

This location has the best deviled crabs. They fry them when you order them and they're never fried ahead. They have just the right amount of crispness to the outside and are loaded with crab meat. I wish I didn't live 25 miles away, but I always treat myself when I'm on this side of town.

Under new ownership, thank goodness! Have always loved the food but the last owner/manager was the most miserable and rude human I've seen managing a restaurant in a while. The new owner is fantastic!

The empanadas are exquisite like nowhere else, I recommend it 100%.

The food is great but the manager- owner needs to learn when a guest has an issue to fix it not act as if I was a bother because there are sugar ants in the drink station. He didnt care what I wanted which was just sorry. He made sure that I knew I didnt matter went right back to his paper work like I was the issue. Thank manager your the best !!hopɛ I dont get sick from your dirty drink station sad thing he I told him it was today and he said what This is from a couple days ago? In a angry tone. I dont how many ants I drinked so so gross..

The food is always great, and the staff is extremely friendly. They go out of their way to make sure that you were taken care of and you were happy. I highly recommend this restaurant. You won’t be disappointed.
