We’ve been trying to find a good Thai restaurant in Tampa for a while now, and this place absolutely nailed it. Everything we ordered was delicious.
The drunken noodles had the perfect amount of heat and fresh basil. It’s my go to dish and they did it better than anywhere else I’ve tried around Tampa. The Panang curry was so rich and creamy, I was practically drinking the sauce. We also got the pad basil which was just as good. Super flavorful and well balanced.
Portions were huge too. We thought about ordering a fourth dish and I’m glad we didn’t because we barely finished what we had. The Thai iced tea was the perfect way to cool down between bites. Sweet, refreshing, and exactly what you want with a spicy Thai meal.
Big bonus if you’re vegetarian. They have a ton of plant based options and don’t treat it like an afterthought. Everything we had was packed with authentic Thai flavor regardless.
Staff was friendly, food came out fast, and the whole experience just felt right. Easily the best Thai food in Tampa we’ve had. We’re already talking about when we’re going back. If you’re looking for authentic Thai food in the Tampa Bay area, do yourself a favor and check this place out. You won’t be disappointed.

Go. Do it. I promise you will be blown away by the food! It’s so worth it. I have high standards for taste and quality and Roong Aroon Thai Cafe has my stamp of approval. Yes their hours are bazar, but their food saves well for leftovers, so order lots of togo and enjoy eating it the night of and then for lunch the next day.
It’s so good that I actually cried tears of happiness over my meal haha. I got curry, soup, 2 noodle dishes, and fried spring rolls. I am excited to try all of their dishes because the ones I ordered were absolutely fantastic. It’s as if I traveled out of the country and got to experience real authentic cuisine. It’s a family owned restaurant. I eat Thai food often and THIS is now my favorite Thai food.
Opens at 8pm some nights and 8:45pm other nights. Double check their website hours to know their schedule. Seriously, don’t let the late night hours stop you from trying it. I hesitated going for some time because of their hours and now I’m kicking myself for not trying them sooner. I’ve added Roong Aroon Thai Cafe to my MUST have list.

I cannot overstate how excellent the food here is. I've had dozens of iterations of pad thai from countless restaurants, and when I ordered it from here I felt like I was having it for the first time. Savory, sweet, spicy, seasoned incredibly. You will not regret trying this place.
Fantastic Thai food. One of my favorites in the area.

Delicious. We found this by accident shopping nearby but it’s the best Thai we’ve had in Tampa. We got 2 tom kha soups, drunken noodles, and fried rice. Everything was top notch. Fresh and flavorful. They don’t play with the spice level FYI. Hot was too hot for me, medium was tolerable. Will go with mild likely to avoid tummy troubles or medium if I’m feeling courageous. We will be back, it would even be worth the drive for us from about 20-25mins away. 10/10.
Is it possible to add an option to get soup without chicken or shrimp, just vegetables?

Unbelievably friendly staff, love supporting small families like this one. Authentic and super savory food, pad Thai and yellow curry are awesome
I was really looking forward to trying this place based on the high ratings, but unfortunately my experience didn’t match the hype. long wait, and when I arrived I wasn’t greeted at all, which immediately set a bad tone. The service felt inattentive and unwelcoming.
On top of that, the food was not very good- definitely not what I expected given the reviews. Overall, the experience was disappointing and not somewhere I’d rush back to.
The place is small but cozy. Staff is friendly and the food was delicious. They are small so service takes a bit of time but it's worth it. The fresh rolls were fresh and tasty and the pad thai was amazing. Its family owned and run, support local ❤️
