I’ve been going to Umami for a few years now and it’s by far my favorite sushi restaurant. The food is amazing, service is great and the prices are best around. The Dale Mabry roll is so delicious. If you haven’t been to this restaurant, you are truly missing out.

Horrible service.. my girl and I had a waitress her name was Sabrina. We arrive and get sat down and her energy was terrible didn’t even seem like she wanted to serve us. We order the hibachi and 10 min into our meal she puts our check on our table with to go boxes stacked on it.. she didn’t even ask us how the food was, she was just trying to rush us out obviously cause it was pretty busy but we had just got started eating and weren’t finished. Then our hibachi comes with a soup and my girl didn’t like the miso soup so she asked for it to be switched to the other soup they offer and she had the nerve to charge us for the soup we switched out. I asked her about it when we got our check and she decides to start arguing saying I asked you what soup you wanted and stopped herself mid sentence and said nvm I’ll take it off for y’all. Didn’t refill our drinks once, didn’t ask if we wanted the check just brought it out to us 10 min into eating, didn’t know the menu, super rude, super inattentive. The list goes on I couldn’t believe it honestly it was the worst service I’ve had in a long time.
Umami Sushi is so good. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, and you can tell a lot of care goes into every roll. The flavors are perfectly balanced, the presentation is beautiful, and the portions are super satisfying. The staff is friendly and the vibe is cozy but modern, making it a great spot for any occasion. Easily one of the best sushi places I’ve been to—once you try it, you’ll be craving it again. Highly recommend!

We ordered a few sushi rolls (Philly, Florida, and Dale Mabry) all were delicious. We also got a hibachi meal and a bento box. HUGE portions for those. And also very good! Sabrina, our waitress, was very sweet and accommodating! We will be coming back!
