First thing to address is that this is no longer Vallarta’s. It’s San Jose Mexican Restaurant. We know Vallarta’s is great, so when we discovered the change as we arrived, we were cautious but gave it a shot. The people are very friendly. Food was disappointing. Our party all agreed on that, and we got a variety of items.

Hands down the WORST mexican food I have ever eaten!

We’ve been twice since relocating to the area and both times have had service and food that were so subpar we attempted to pay and leave without eating. The first time management blamed the “lack of good help nowadays” when multiple items were forgotten from our meal and our children were served piping hot dishes (after being forgotten and reminded about once the adults meals were served). The second time we were served incorrect drinks ( two different margaritas, Texas and top shelf) when we asked if there was a mix up or to remake the small drink because it didn’t taste right we were instead met with a manager stating that is the way they made them and it was right, or did we want to change the order.Overall the service has been a I miss and the food not good enough to justify returning.

Family owned. The menu is overwhelming. There are too many entrees to choose from on the list. Great flavor to food. Excellent customer service.

Place is empty and for good reason. Service is slow. Ordered Cevechie. I realize it takes time to make, but when you're told it will be 10 more minutes and 25 minutes later you're told just 10 more minutes AND your family has finished their meals, you have reason to be angry. Excuses ranged from it's just now getting made to they only have one cook. How this place recieved high reviews is beyond me.

We went on Friday night at 7:30 with every seat in the house full and we sat at the bar. Service was great and the food was delicious. We will absolutely be coming back.

We got there at 930The male that greeted us was about to serve us, but then a female came up and said they ARE CLOSED ………at 930 ?To bad.We went to the next one in Carrolwood.Thank you Cartolwood for your hospitality

Have eaten at 2 other Vallaratas. This one is named San Jose in Lutz used to be Vallaratas. Closing time is 10:00PM. They would not serve us at 9:30PM. Shame they just lost my business I will never go back. Vallaratas in Wesley Chapel and Carrollwood never have a problem serving us 1/2 hour before they close. If you stop serving at 9:30PM on a Friday then your closing time is not 10:00PM it’s 9:30PM Will never recommend this place to anyone. Vallaratas in Wesley Chapel and Carrollwood will definitely get my business and recommendations.
Love sitting in the patio enjoying some chips, guacamole and margs!!!

Food is really good but be weary, they are charging more than menu posted prices.

Perhaps you should advise your customers that you close at 09:30 instead of the 10:00 publicly posted. That would avoid anyone taking a long drive to try out your restaurant for a take out order and being informed upon arrival that you close at 09:30 pm.

So much better than the one on Duck Slough.
