Outstanding! Honestly, words hardly do this place justice. From my very first visit to now countless returns, Mama Rose Pizza has never failed to impress. Their specials are legendary—especially the 99-cent cheese slices that taste like pure New York nostalgia.

The heart of this place comes from the owners, Mama Rose and Uncle Vinny. They bring so much energy and warmth that you instantly feel like part of the family. On just my second visit, Uncle Vinny remembered my name and even listened to my suggestion about offering his homemade ranch in larger bottles so I could enjoy it at home. That kind of care is rare.

The atmosphere is electric—from Yankees games on the TV to the authentic New York/New Jersey vibes in the air. And let’s talk about the food: the homemade sauce is packed with flavor, and the cook in the back reminds me of my Nana. She pours her spirit into the dough, and I swear there’s a secret ingredient—maybe a mix of sugar, spice, and sunshine—that makes it perfect every time.

The whole staff is incredible. Even during a rush, the cashiers greet you with a smile, making every visit a bright spot in my day. The place keeps evolving and renovating, and I can’t wait to see what’s next.

“Definitely a diamond in the rough!! There were 5 in our party and even tho we waited awhile it was definitely worth it. Our waitress was excellent and let us know from the beginning that she was backed up but would be back to us as soon as she could check on the other tables. She was actually the only server on duty!! The food was also excellent and well worth the wait and the price was very reasonable. We also sat where we could watch the kitchen staff working their butts off handling table orders as well as a stream of take out orders. All 5 of us agreed our experience was worth every minute. While we were there I didn't hear any complaints at all, which is highly unusual when you have any kind of wait. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. We even tipped the kitchen staff for their hard work.“

Extremely small inside with paper table cloths that they tear off from a big roll on the back wall. Ordered garlic bread and calamari for appetizer. Garlic bread was OK, calamari was so tough you could not even chew it. My mom's OSSO BUCO ALLA MILANESE (pork shank) was seasoned good, but I could tell it was cooked earlier and then heated up. The outside of the pork was warm, but the middle was stone cold. My wife and I got a Hawaiian pizza. It is thin crust and extremely soggy. Could not even pick up the pizza slice it was so soft. Had a horrible, weird tast me to it, almost like a sour tomato sauce. Barely even ate one slice and left the rest of it there. Went there for birthday dinner, and it was ruined. I guess our first red flag should have been that on a Saturday evening, it was not even busy.“

“Gino’s is THE spot. Stopped in on a whim to get a slice with the fiancé and this is probably been the best decision I’ve made all month. Gino is an awesome dude and truly passionate about his craft. We got the 2 slice and a drink special and I was NOT let down. 2 giant slices of cheese pizza and a coke? Can’t go wrong there. Now let me take a moment to gush about this pizza. First off, the crust, thin yet substantial with a crisp bottom and great chew. The sauce was subtly sweet with the tomato flavor standing strong. The cheese was bubbly and perfectly balanced in harmony with the crust and sauce. This is a hidden gem tucked away on East Bay and you, yes you reading this, you need to come here!

UPDATE: WE GOT CANNOLIS. These are made in house and MY GOD! Crispy flaky shell, sweet creamy filling, chocolate chips?! Yes please. I’ll take a dozen.

“The pizzas are great we ordered the buffalo chicken pizza and it was fantastic. But the pasta entrees are my family’s favorite. The pasta puttanesca is truly amazing. We have been here a few times and we order it with shrimp or blackened chicken. The portions are American Italian so you will have some to take home. The house salad is also excellent. The Italian Margarita is a refreshing drink after a few hours in the burning sun.“

“I fix pizza ovens for living and have service this store for over 20 years . Recently the store was devastated by a hurricane . Ownership of the store was changing before during and after the storm. The new owners rebuilt the store keeping it very much as it was just much nicer . They paid me to fix the pizza ovens and updated Refrigeration as well as the walk-in cooler . They improved everything while I'm not changing much . Today I had their large pizza which is now much larger than it used to be and I have to tell you it was every bit as good if not better than it always has been . Long Live Original Pizza“
