I started going to Athena’s when my son and family first moved to Maitland over 17 years ago. Since 2018 I went there at least once a week. Having to move back to Connecticut, I miss their chicken so much. My grandchildren know when I come to visit that is the first place I stop to eat. Their chicken is always so delicious and moist. I wish they would open a place here ❤️

I have been going to Athena's since 1989. I have never had a bad meal. Everyone is always friendly. The food is great! my go to meal has always been the 1/4 white with a small Greek salad. I always get a large side of potato salad to go. Service is quick and efficient. I recommend 100%

Best Chicken In Town!!! Athena Roasted Chicken!!! For my first time trying this place hands down good food. I ordered the Chicken Gyro with a side of roasted potatoes and zucchini. FYI I have a video collab with you and my friend on Instagram. I will be back soon to try something else but I like the Gyro.
The owner is unsanitary. As he was preparing my food, he grabbed my pita bread with his bare hands and I called him on it. I told him that's unsanitary and to replace it because we are in a Pandemic...he did so but almost cursed me out and told me to leave, I asked for a refund, which I received and left. He is nasty and unsanitary...BE CAREFUL and avoid for your safety....

Hidden gem! Food is sooo good! Staff were super friendly and I’m in love with the affordability. Get the roast chicken, with the roast potatoes, grilled pita and zucchini! So good, so full, very affordable and had very cute outdoor seating!

Every time I order the gyros, there is barely any meat on it and that's why I stopped going for awhile. I have had the chicken and potatoes and other sides which is delicious. But, recently I went for a gyros and again barely any meat on it, but the pita bread is really tasty and fresh. The gyros meat tasted good, but it was just tiny pieces, I felt like I was eating just pita bread. When I go back I will skip ordering the gyros again. I do like everything else. The atmosphere is clean and comfortable. Nice location.

I stopped by the hot food to look at what was available. There's 2 employees and the looked at me and I said hello, but no answer, instead they moved around, so I went to the register to order my food. On my way to the register, I spotted a 3rd employee. I waited for a few minutes an no one made an attempt to acknowledge me. I waited some more time and nothing. Then I looked by the hot food and the male employee made eye contact so I turned again to the register and waited some more but no one ever came or acknowledge me. After which time, I just walkout. As I was walking out all 3 employes looked at me but never said anything. Did I mention that the restaurant was completely empty? Yes it was so before writing this review I checked the closing time thinking that they may close at 6 pm and it was 5:45 pm. I too don't like when people come into a place right before closing but they close at 8 pm. ?

My favorite to go place best rostiessere chiken in town
Tried for the first time today and wow, such tasty well prepared food, the chicken was juicy and flavorful, potatoes were amazing and the zucchini with that sauce it's just perfect. Will come back to try new stuff. 100% recommended if you want to eat healthy, tasty well done good at an affordable and reasonable price.
It’s not a date night place but it’s a darn good place for food !!! Food is solid here !! Your everyday lunch day and their catering is top notch!!!!!!

Let me start by saying the store was busy (as per usual) the store was dirty, trash scattered on the floor, and tables were dirty. I ordered the gyro which should be a no brainer at Athenas, and the New York style potatoes (absolutely amazing potatoes). The gyro was dried out and the edges of the meat were extremely dry and very hard. It was not the tender juicy meat that we are used to. Unfortunately this trip was very disappointing. We are chalking it up to the volume of people coming through. It was a little after 3pm.
