My husband and I have eaten here every year for the past 15 years . Elegant and casual atmosphere with the perfect location. We stay at this lovely resort every year in January. We absolutely love this place . The food at the Butterfly Cafe is always delicious. Presentation beautiful and service is the best . I always order the Scallops Risotto ( the recipe has changed a bit but is still fabulous)and the signature Butterfly Martini. I always make a reservation and there is zero wait time. Can’t wait to go back soon!
Excellent food and service from start to finish. The buffet was delicious and restocked often. Highly recommend.
It's always a 5 star experience at tranquility. Gabby couldn't have been more charming or efficient. She was awesome. The atmosphere is always perfect inside or out. The food top notch. The wine selection is perfect and the cocktails are amazing. We always come back when we are in town
The food is always spot on And so is the service from Jeanette and Kevin. We always have such a wonderful time there. Thank you
Scallops with pesto risotto was excellent. The key lime pie was the best I've had. Nara our server was fantastic.
Butterfly Cafe is truly the gem of Marathon Key. There is NO OTHER Restaurant that is truly Fine Dining. We have been visiting the keys for 50 years. There are many that claim to be but this is Fine Dining compared to any other fine dining in any other city. Many in Marathon are fine dining for Marathon standards. The food is excellent. The service is impeccable. The cocktails are superb as well as the wines. The ambience is truly magical. We thank Jose, the manager, for doing such an amazing job and keeping us coming back. A MUST TRY.
Beautiful Keysie atmosphere. Attentive, nice ambience. Will go again... and again. Loved it!
Service was amazing as always, Jose Luis was very attentive with all of our needs and the menu recommendations were spot on for my wife's allergies. 10/10 !
I've never been more abused in a restaurant in my entire life, the manager was nasty and mean , wanted to force us to pay after we said we didn't want the food . Food has gone down hill at this place and the service is worse.
We had a gift certificate and thought we would try them again as the previous time we were not happy. Unfortunately this time was worse than the previous time. 4 of us for dinner, 3 ordered steaks and 1 fish. The Med-Rare steaks came out med-well to well done, the Med steak was well done. The fish was dry. When the waitress came around to inquire how we liked our food - I showed her the steak that had not been eaten and asked her if that looked good to her. She looked at all the steaks and agreed they were all cooked incorrectly. I thought she would take them back and refire but to my surprise she stated she would speak with the kitchen. Well, minutes later she came back and said they were not sure what to do so they were calling the manager. Came back by and stated they would give us a discount. I was HUNGRY - not wanting a discount and I stated this. One would have thought they would refire another steak - nope - they picked up my plate that I only took a bite of vegetable and left. Will not return here with or without a gift certificate!!!

We were very disappointed in the quality of meat they use for menu items. The manager did apologize. My husband was given filet mignon as an option to replace his order. It was served bathed in sauce. My fish was just ok. Dessert was a frozen piece of key lime pie. The waitress is an asset to the restaurant. She apologized and tried to do her best to improve our meal. So we were extremely disappointed with Tranquility Bay's restaurant. The restaurant is a little on the pricey side so as a diner my expectations were raised for this dining experience. If you are planning to stay at this resort my suggestion is to do your homework before you arrive hungry. Research the nearby restaurants before you get to Tranquility Bay.
Cozy restaurant with attentive service and solid flavors: beet salad, crab cakes, seafood pasta, scallop risotto and the desserts were tasteful.
Our butterfly cafe experience was very disappointing. Our server was nice, but unfortunately not attentive. We saw the supervisor more than our waitress. The prices are extremely high and the wait times for food are long even with no one in the restaurant. We were there for 1.5 hours for a caprese salad, pizza, and two steaks. My meal was brought out before everyone else, so I was done eating my dinner before the rest of the table even got their food. It was about 30 minutes later when everyone else got to eat. We ordered a steak medium and it was brought out extremely well done. They did comp one steak which we are grateful for but overall our experience was not it for the $150 we spent.
Pre-Birthday Dinner at the Resort – Evening Dinner was an absolute treat! The appetizers and entrées were perfectly portioned. The Filet Mignon was cooked to perfection — tender and flavorful. The asparagus was expertly poached, retaining just the right amount of crispness. The Yellowfin was beautifully prepared — buttered on the edges and perfectly flaky inside. Our server was incredibly accommodating, adding to the overall positive experience. The ambiance was intimate and ideal for a special evening. One downside: the mosquitos were very active indoors the night we dined. While repellent spray was offered, it unfortunately didn’t do much to deter them. Still, the quality of the food and service made it a memorable pre-birthday dinner.
Amazing food and customer services, the location and view makes it a great place for anniversary or birthday dinner
