Extremely Disappointed with the Service and Staff Behavior

On April 10, 2025, my son and his friend visited Islands Chicken on Marco Island, Florida, and unfortunately, had a very disappointing experience. They placed an order for two full meals and were instead charged for and served kids’ meals. It felt as though the staff took advantage of the fact that they were young and treated the situation as a joke.

The individual who took their order acted as if he didn’t understand what was being said, and ultimately did not deliver what was clearly communicated. What’s most concerning is not just the mix-up in the order, but the lack of professionalism, care, and respect shown by the staff.

As a parent, it’s extremely frustrating to see young customers not taken seriously and potentially manipulated out of their money. My son and his friend came home confused and disappointed, having been clear about their order but ignored or dismissed by the employee.

This kind of customer service is unacceptable, and I strongly urge the owner or management to invest in better training, hire staff who understand the importance of clear communication, and treat all customers—regardless of age—with respect.

Until serious changes are made, I cannot recommend this restaurant. Experiences like this damage the reputation of the business and make customers feel devalued.

Phenomenal. The Island Combo had a hefty amount of food for a low price and had the quality of a higher-end restaurant. The worker behind the counter was very friendly, and the service was decently quick. Would absolutely recommend! 💯

Very clean shop and equipment, cooks were wearing gloves and handled food carefully. Gentleman working the counter, Hunter, was extremely kind, polite and friendly as I entered the store. Made sure my order was completely correct before I left the store. Food was delicious and fresh, recommend double bread if you’re not big on fries only because the portion of fries is so generous!

Excellent chicken tenders and good options for sauce. Wings are great. Spicy garpar option would be nice and blue cheese dip would be great to have. Good fries

Should get rid of the male employee who worked the 2/8 evening shift. He messed up 3 orders in a row and then just started pulling food with his bare hands from other orders while telling me I didn’t order what I clearly did l! I know your young but just care a little bit about what your doing and you won’t suck so bad at it!

Great food, fast, very limited sitting, very polite service, tip: don’t get the two chicken strip and fries lunch special for $7.99 buy the four strip and fries for $12.99 comes with drink, toast and coleslaw.

Was looking for a good chicken restaurant, this place is my new favorite spot. The tenders and fries were almost almost identical to Canes. Food was delicious. I will be back for sure.

I ate at this place before and loved it for some reason ordered it on DoorDash today and had extremely soggy fries and 0 salt at all kind of disappointing as everytime I’ve ordered I even check off “extra crispy” for both the chicken and fries . ):

A very mean kid named Gom violently threw his chicken tender at my face! I was very unpleasant and left immediately. I wanted to press charges on him, but him and his pinhead friends ran away! I hope to have a better experience next time. **The food was amazing, though!**
