Highly recommend this little bit of heaven in downtown Melbourne. It is a locally owned and run restaurant and tea house. I attended with a group for a tea time lunch. The service was excellent from all the staff that served our table, including the owner. Our menu consisted of some items they did not have on the menu due to it being a tea. But I can't rave enough, how delicious, fresh, and tasty it all was. I highly recommend their soup! The prices are very good and consistent for what you order. The lunch menu is quite diverse, and you will find a little of anything, from salads, sandwiches, and baked goods. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed. This is an addition to my original post. Went back today 3/20 for lunch with my lady friends, there were 11 of us. Lived up to the original post again with great lunch and breakfast items. I personally had the garden salad with a balsamic vinegrette dressing and chicken salad on the side. Very, very good. Some of the others had chicken salad sandwiches, lemon pound cake fresh toast and the breakfast bowl to name a few. All very tasty and fresh. The service was impeccable as always. Can't say enough about this place!

I have been here a few times now. I LOVE the soup but unfortunately call first bc two days in a row no soup. The best egg pie I’ve ever had. It was delicious. The homemade deserts are to die for..The only issue is the sewage smell inside. Other then that definitely recommend.

Very small portions for price. Paper & plastic dinnerware. Food okay. Had to order like McDonald’s.

Harvest Thyme in downtown Melbourne is a place I would not recommend. The restaurant-bungalow looked so cute from the outside but the food and experience were meh. You order at the counter and get your own water in a plastic cup (and the food is served on a square paper plate), but they still would like you to tip them. My turkey sandwich was on half-toasted sour dough bread and included a tiny portion of turkey and cheddar with bits of cranberry. On the side were a couple pieces of lettuce and tomatoes and few thin slices of unripe fruit -- all for $16. One friend ordered the biscuits and three kinds of gravy. Mediocre biscuits. Nothing like the fabulous house-made biscuits of Oh Biscuit's former owners (haven't tried it since Christine and Larry sold it). My friend liked the sausage gravy but was less keen on the mushroom gravy. Though it wasn't busy, it took 15 minutes for my sad little sandwich to appear. The only dessert available was a single cinnamon roll. Based on previous reviews and photos, the food must've been better in months passed. Maybe the staff is tired or burned out. Whatever the reason, lunch was underwhelming.

We went for tea expecting a nicely served weekly brunch tea. While we appreciated the kind and cordial service, we felt that there were many details that could improve the experience. Displaying the teas in a more appealing way, serving the scones warm, bringing the cream, butter and jams together with the initial service, etc. In terms of the atmosphere, the house is lovely but the storage is exposed and the area of the kitchen that is visible is not particularly appealing. We did not have the chance to experience the outdoors.

Just excellent food and great service. The menu is full of crafted meals you can’t get anywhere else. Small place full of charm. You will not find a better breakfast.

I so wanted to love this place. Met 3 friends for brunch, 2 of us arrived early. We were so looking forward to a hot coffee drink. Our lattes were served in paper cups, which of course were disintegrating before we finished. Then we were served our food on paper plates. Eggs do not do well on paper. My friend got the turkey sandwich and it was turkey and bread, that's it. They were out of the sauce. We want to try the tea, but really hope they stop serving on paper.
