Island Root Kava Bar Suntree

Kenzie took care of everyone tonight! She was shelling with all the guests and encouraged everyone to be included in the “Bula!” chant. I love island root, this is a great place to make friends without the headaches of alcohol… and it’s even better when Kenzie is bartending!!

Thos place gets a low rating for the simple fact that the selection is bleak and quality doesn't match the price. Never in my life will I go back unless they do more with their flavor selection and actually hold product until closing. I was very unimpressed. This makes the 37th kava bar I've visited and by far the worst one yet. I hope they get it together because its a really cozy establishment.

Found this place while searching for coffee places around my hotel. Lauren the kava tender was very understanding of first timers and started me off with a bowl of kratom, which before we drank we said the ceremonial “balut”. These are normally served in half coconut shells but they didn’t have those, so we settled for plastic bowls. Very relaxing environment and very friendly social people at the bar. No worries, cone out. You won’t regret it!

These guys do it right. I think we may have gone on a pride day because the redhead fella was a little zesty, but very nice and welcoming.

This is the best kava bar I’ve been too. The teas are super strong and taste surprisingly good. The guy serving was very friendly and knowledgeable, my guilty pleasure whenever traveling to south Florida. You guys should consider opening a location in north Florida!

Came here on 2/27/25 with my boyfriend and two friends. We had been to plenty of Kava bars around the area before with no issues.. this day we were refused service because my boyfriend moved here from out of state (Illinois) just a few months prior. I am 23, he is 22 and our friends are 21. The lady working the bar that night comes up to the door with no greeting or anything just said “i need to see IDs”… very hostility checked my boyfriends ID first and ran it through the scanner and it comes back green (which i assume means good) and tries to bend his ID and says it’s fake because it bends. I along with our friends all pull our id’s out and bend them just the same. She then checks the rest of ours but by quick glances, does not even scan ours and says that we are good but my boyfriends is fake and will not serve him.

I understand how it may look in this situation with everyone else having a FL ID while he has a IL one; However, the fact that she ran his ID through the scanner, it came back green and she still refused us service was insane to me. I wanted to ask the other person behind bar for a second opinion but my boyfriend was over it at this point and just wanted to leave. So we went to Kavasutra down the street and they took all of our ID’s just fine and we had a great time!

My wife and I LOVE Island Root! Their Nitro teas are impeccable and their staff is amazing! My dumbass forgot my wallet once and the manager made sure to reach out to me immediately. Great products, and friendly, HONEST staff.. Island Root is our #1!! Hands down!

I just recently tried kava for the first time, and decided to give a different place a shot. This place was great! Lauren was very informative and a pleasure to speak to. We tried quite the variety of Kratom teas and kava. I will say that if you are new to kava do not consume too much as it can make you a bit nauseous. We’re newbies and had about 3 blends of the Kratom tea and two types of kava and after a little while I did feel a little nauseous. This portion of my review is referring to the product itself and not on the establishment.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere and staff and of course the kava and Kratom. I will definitely return here and I highly
recommend it.

I was at Island Root Suntree location today. Glad to see Ian was bartending now. I met Ian about a year ago at the Downtown location when he was a bar back. He is such a pleasure to be around,very personable,professional,and a great bartender. I hope to see more of him at the Suntree Island root,best Kava in Melbourne,with the best staff,Ian being an asset to this great brand.

Love this place to get some work done during the day. Laid back atmosphere, good drinks and friendly crowd. Lauren is my favorite bartender of all of the locations. She’s very sweet, welcoming and makes me laugh. 10/10 would recommend!
