Twisted Rooster Bar

I used to enjoy going to Twisted Rooster, but unfortunately, this place has become a shadow of what it once was. The owner’s tactics are questionable at best, offering free shots in exchange for positive reviews—it's pretty clear he's trying to game the system. The worst part? Fake accounts are being used to falsely claim the bar is packed when, in reality, there are only a handful of people inside.

On top of that, the drinks are ridiculously overpriced for what you get. And don't even get me started on the parking situation—it’s a nightmare. As a gay bar, it’s heartbreaking to see how things have gone downhill.

The drag shows? Just awful. It's honestly a shame because this place used to have potential. Now, it's just a cheap, overpriced mess. To make matters worse, the owner seems indifferent to the drug problems inside the bar, with reports of overdoses and people being kicked out for not buying drugs. It's a dangerous and disappointing environment, and it's clear that customer safety is not a priority.

This place should be reported. If you’re looking for a real, fun, and safe spot, you might want to look elsewhere.

Went in there today at around 6:45. They were doing a bingo game. I was there with a female friend of mine. I used the restroom and we then left because there were NO seats. As we were outside, we heard the bingo host make a comment about us leaving because we realized it was a “gay” bar. Sorry sir, we knew what it was and didn’t care. If there had been more room for patrons we would have stayed and had drinks, sad a man like him showing such intolerance and judgement. Probably won’t return, but if we do, it would be nice to not have such callous comments heard. Thx

Love going on Sundays for Dirty Bingo!

Been here twice with my partner and we love the vibes, the drinks, and the performers! The staff is amazing. It's one of those places that I can't say enough good things about.

I love everything about this local bar! The vibe is a safe place for all walks of life. Whether you are there for BINGO, Happy Hour, a Drag Show or simply to dance (or drink) your blues away, everyone is so friendly. Coming from a straight women's perspective, from the bar staff to the patrons and regulars, it is, truly, a welcoming environment. Security is stellar, which adds an extra layer of comfort to, simply, be yourself. I make sure to visit at least once, if not more, every time I am in the Melbourne area.

As a straight man who doesn’t care for the bar atmosphere, I enjoy coming to this establishment with my wife and friends to hang out and watch some very entertaining drag shows. Jimit the owner is next level and very personable with all patrons. No judgement or discrimination. If you tell the entertainers no thank you? They respect it the first time and will not bother you.

Today we came to hear the Karkote music and we enjoyed the music but there one woman came in the bar and my husband was standing waiting for cup of water and there woman behind him and I notice she was touching my husband back and I got upset got up told her Do Not touch my husband back . I notice she Drunk . I Do Not Like any drunk Woman touch my husband. I am chriatian and I Don't like a person is drunk acting strange . I hope this woman don't do it again . She is drunk not respectful.

I'm not sure what agenda the reviewer 'Qunicy' has, but the long-winded review from a new account with only 1 review tells me that they have a grudge against either the owner and/or the staff, and attempted to drag down the review of this establishment with their 1-star rating.

My husband and I were in town 11/29/24 - 12/01/24 and visited The Twisted Rooster on Friday for a drag show featuring Remini Mogul and T Lo Ivy. Melbourne lacks LGBTQ inclusive spaces, so we were excited to be in a welcoming space (which is rare for the Central & Northern Florida Atlantic coastline).

Despite it being a rainy evening, the crowd was enthusiastic and the hostesses were engaging, entertaining, stunning and very kind. We truly enjoyed how they engaged, despite a smaller crowd due to the weather & time of year. Support local queer art & remember to TIP YOUR QUEENS! You can get singles from the bar, just make sure you have CashApp or Venmo setup on your phone.

We received great table service on the floor in addition to cold, well-made drinks (bourbon & ginger ale; cosmopolitan; beer). The bartenders were busy but took time to chat with us when we asked for recommendations for fine dining in the area.

The owner was extremely welcoming to us, stopping by the bar to chat with us and provide his own dining recommendations. He offered us a drink on the house, but we opted not to out of manners and courtesy.

The bathroom has cheeky, eclectic decor. I am a bit of a germophobe, and was not concerned.

We will be visiting the area again for our 10-year wedding anniversary in late February 2025, and to explore more of Melbourne, as we are looking to move from Ocala. I hope The Twisted Rooster enjoys another 6-years of operations!

This is more than a gay bar, it's an everybody bar. Wednesday night karaoke is a blast
