When the name of Sonny's BBQ blinked back at me from my random name generator I was filled with a sense of anticipation. According to the internet, they were founded right here in the Sunshine State by Floyd “Sunny” Tillman in 1968, with the first location being in Gainesville. Bob Yarmuth purchased the company in 1991 and continues as owner and CEO today....read full review

Sonny's BBQ offers good food and a nice atmosphere. The whole hog sandwich served on garlic bread is a must-try, featuring tender pork and flavorful jalapeno sausage. Prices are reasonable, and the service, especially for large groups, has been outstanding. Recently, several employees, including Lindsay and Caitlyn, received praise for their exceptional service, making guests feel welcome and well taken care of. Olivia also impressed visitors with her friendly demeanor and attentiveness. With some awesome specials currently available and a clean environment, it's a great spot for delicious barbecue in a welcoming setting, including friendly access for less mobile friends.
