My husband and I came to Melbourne for a weekend trip to celebrate our anniversary. We had done some research about Irish pubs in the area and this is the one that other reviews and personal friends recommended. It did not disappoint!
First of all, the ambience feels authentic: warm, familiar, and cozy. The is a small room called The Snug... Hubby and I had the room all to ourselves. It was perfect! It has a faux fireplace, two tables, books and photos about Irish places and people.
The food was outstanding! Guiness was poured perfectly, and we both ordered the Pub Sampler because we couldn't choose just one menu item, and we didn't want to share! 😂 It included smaller portions of Cottage Pie, Bangers & Mash, and Guinness Beef Stew. Honestly, I can't tell you which item was better; they were all so flavorful! The side car of Redbreast Irish whiskey was delicious and a perfect way to finish our meal.
We were made to feel like family here, so you can bet we will be back!
We ate at the pub last Friday. The food and atmosphere were both good. It was a very pleasant change of pace for us.

I have to say this was the best irish pub I have been to in a very long time. The ambiance is amazing. Definitely makes you feel like you're in an irish setting.The food was good.The service was absolutely excellent. The waitress Haley was phenomenal and the drink specials that they have for the fall were incredible!

Cozy little space, eclectic decor, helpful service, quick turnaround for food. Being an older building it did have a musty smell, but they offered outdoor seating. The bread pudding was the best part! 🤩
The fish and chips used to be better. It seems like they use a low quality frozen version these days. It’s been rubbery and chewy on more than one occasion. The curry sauce is delicious with the fries tho. ($3.00 for a cup of curry sauce) 3 stars because it’s pricey for what it is. If they used a better quality filet I’d frequently visit.

My husband and I visited The Cottage with our daughter and son-in-law. Our daughter had told us about the restaurant and how much she had enjoyed it. We chose to sit outside on the patio because the weather was nice and we liked the ambience. Our waitress was very accommodating and friendly. She gave us suggestions on drinks and checked with us often. We all ordered different entrees for dinner and everyone was very pleased with their choices. The food was well prepared and tasted delicious. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend.

Bar closes at midnight, walked in at 9:30pm on a Friday night and the kitchen was closed! Seated hostess said they were only serving drinks.
