This is my favorite place in downtown melbourne. It is a more refined and sophisticated atmosphere, something which is hard to find. They are so friendly so expect good conversation and a tour of the place if it is your first time there. Extensive wine list and craft brews, live jazz and piano music. 5 stars. it is essentially a gallery as well as a bar, all the artwork is beautiful to admire. Great for date nights

We went to The Living Room to hear our friend, entertainer Don Alexander, and loved the entire evening. We tried both the Mediterranean and Fruits of Downtown flatbreads, and both were delicious. Our friends were impressed that they had a selection of the New Zealand wines that they prefer.

Live music (DJ) of the rave/dance variety tackled this beautiful art gallery with a really nice bar scene. Very comfortable for a social gathering, date or just to grab a glass of wine and look at some really nice art.

This place has so much potential but unless the owner doesn't mind losing money I don't think it is going to survive. It used to be you couldn't find a seat on a Friday or Saturday night but lately there are more and more empty seats. We wouldn't mind the high prices if the service was great but the service can be so bad that it just makes you want to leave. We went last night with a party of 5 and very few people there but it took about 20 minutes before we all had our wine. The music was great and the wine and flat bread very good. A few weeks ago our server essentially stopped waiting on us to focus on a table of people who were obviously her friends. The owner needs to hire more experienced servers or get the existing servers some training.

Very cool atmosphere, comfortable place to hang out, have a glass of wine however, having a conversation is difficult over the live music and the menu is very limited. Don't go expecting dinner and lot's of conversation. Definitely worth the visit, depends on what you are looking for, but convenient downtown walk-to place, nice friendly owners/managers.

This was my first time at The Living Room and I brought my mother and a local business owner for their first times as well. What a horrible mistake! While the entertainment by Sarah D was phenomenal and the concept is good, the rest of the experience at The Living Room was beyond upsetting. Not only were the tables and chairs uncomfortable, but the business owner that I brought had asked for 3 different wines off the menu that were “out of stock” before she asked for a wine that was available. Pretty pathetic for a WINE BAR. Not to mention the few menus that were circulating around our table had stains and runny ink from people spilling on the paper menu. The women's bathroom had multiple spider webs around and the spray bottle of bleach was sat on the counter next to the paper towels. I was there for 3 hours and was NEVER asked whether I wanted a refill or another drink. The only refill I got only happened because I had to flag down the waitress as she was serving another table nearby. I watched her walk past our table numerous times with completely empty glasses and didn't even ask if we wanted another, let alone clear the glasses if we would've been done. I would have had more than two glasses of wine if I would've been able to locate my waitress or if she would've been able to remember what I asked her for. She forgot 3 different times what we had asked for and didn't attempt to write any requests down. I honestly believe I have never had worse service is my life. I am beyond disappointed at my experience and will not be attending for another try.

This place has potential, however we were let down so badly that we left in a hurry. Wine selection, location, prices, and decor all seemed good. The band playing was quite loud. We expected more of an artsy vibe, but ended up with a dive bar feel. The service was the worst part. Two servers greeted us when we were seated, but then never returned to check on us. We managed to get the attention of one server to place an order for two more glasses of wine, then we watched her walk away and promptly forget our order. After 20 minutes of watching her wander around looking lost, we had to approach the bar to pay just so we could leave. High hopes were crushed by reality at this venue.

Wasn't impressed. For whatever reason, they had two different kinds of music playing; One person at the piano, and then a horribly tacky smooth jazz and casual bongos combinations that even Satan himself would have cringed at. Wound up going to a bar to avoid a brewing headache.

Favorite place downtown historic Melbourne to watch artists create beautiful artwork live every Tuesday evening while listening to great local bands!! Must come visit this new venue!

I'm looking forward to improvements so I can have a more enjoyable experience in the future and upgrade this review. The Living Room has the potential to be one of the coolest places not only in Downtown Melbourne, but maybe in Brevard. I was recently there for a friend's birthday and was very impressed by the vibe. The atmosphere is fun and unique. A lot of thought went into the décor, which showcases local artists. The musicians were great and people were swing-dancing. The wait staff was friendly. The menu, while pricey, looked very promising. But I absolutely cannot bring myself to rate this place any higher because the food and drink are atrocious. Comically horrible, even (well, until you get the bill and remember you actually have to pay for it). There was no description of the food on the physical menu, so we looked them up online. There were multiple food and drink items on the menu that we were interested in but were unavailable/seasonal. Amongst our party of 8 we ordered 3 "charcuterie boards" (emphasis on the quotation marks because these cannot in any capacity pass for such), 2 flatbreads, and 1 order of pulled pork sliders. The "Artesian" board consisted of a handful of tiny triangles of processed cheeses such as Colby jack and cheddar that undoubtedly came out of a pre-packaged tray from a grocery store; a small bowl of cornichons, green olives and a sprinkle of sliced (?) black olives; a rather large bowl of mustard; grapes (the only acceptable part); FIVE stale "variety" crackers; and my personal favorite: a bowl of crumbled feta cheese. It was absolutely bizarre. No more than $5.00 worth of ingredients...for $18.00. My friend ordered the "Italiano" board, which had similar odd components, with the added bonus of sliced hot dogs and a bowl of jarred tomato sauce topped with melted processed cheese. The "Cold Cutter" came with 3 rolls of Oscar-Meyer-style deli slices. The latter 2 boards were $22.00 each. For the flatbreads, we ordered the "Fruit of Downtown" and the "Mediterranean." I have no complaints about the Fruit of Downtown flatbread - it was tasty and was presented exactly as it was described. The other, however, resembled a microwavable pizza snack in appearance and taste. The pork sliders had flavor but were complete mush. My friend ordered a beer and watched them pour half of 1 bottled beer into a small glass and serve it to him. When he requested the other half, he was charged full price for a second beer. With drinks and tip we must have spent at least $300 for one of the worst meals of my entire life, which was a shame for my friend celebrating her birthday. All we could do was laugh about it because it was so bad. But it almost seemed intentional. They know with the atmosphere and music that people will sit and drink and inevitably get hungry, so they're getting away with serving garbage for outrageous prices. Whoever is procuring and assembling this food, please for the love of anyone with a palate and a wallet, stop. Bring the food and drink up to the same level as everything else and The Living Room will be a force to be reckoned with.
