Toyo Sushi Restaurant has been one of my favorite lunch spots since 2014. The owners always welcome us with a friendly smile and even know our order by heart, which makes every visit feel special. The service is excellent, the soups are the best in town, and the sushi is always incredibly fresh. After all these years, I’ve never been disappointed by a single dish—everything is consistently delicious!

Ordered 1 sushi lunch special, and 1 order of pork dumplings dining in. There's only 5 customers dining in, including me and my daughter (two couples and one solo). I did not expect it to take more than 45 minutes but here we are still waiting. I'm guessing maybe the rice wasn't ready or something? But they opened the restaurant an hour before we arrived so I don't know what could be the reason. Update: the sushi quality was exceptional. So maybe order ahead of time if you don't like waiting for an hour.

14 years ago I was always here eating sushi with Chien-Ming Wang.

Place has the worst service imaginable. I sat with my son for a whole hour and did not get any food. The restaurant was not even busy. The Chinese staff didn’t seem to care and just laughed as I paid for my beer, miso soup and son’s apple juice. Avoid this place at all costs.

The best sushi place you’ll find in Melbourne

I was remarkably impressed with this restaurant. Went here to meet up with others from our group for a total of 11 of us.
The service was fantastic and more than accommodating. All the food was very good and fresh. I can't speak for many of the others, my food was great. I had the spicy mango chicken with seaweed salad. Both were very good and tasty. The mango chicken was just spicy enough for most people, and the seaweed was very fresh.
There was only one person who took leftovers home. Everyone finished their food, and we all had different menu items.

I wished I lived closer, as this would be my go to place for fresh sushi and Asian food. Highly recommend for the food and service, at this little spot in suntree.

$40 for some california and shrimp tempura rolls. They were pretty small were not good at all. Cant speak on the rest of the menu but it definitely was the worst sushi ive ever had. Maybe just a bad night.
