We stopped here for lunch and ordered their hand pie (sweet potato) and the special: tomato soup/grilled cheese on focaccia bread. All of it was so good and tasty! In the pictures, the hand pie is folded. I opened it up to allow it to cool down. We also made a find on a locally roasted coffee in Gainesville. The Melrose Center was serving their coffee. It just so happen it was sold there. We purchased a pound of the Sweetwater dark roast Cafe Cubano French Roast. We made it at home the next morning. It was smooth and fantastic especially if you enjoy dark roast coffees without any bitter or aftertaste.

I had gone on a Saturday to listen to music. It’s a bright, modern atmosphere. They offer a variety of music styles. I heard an acoustic duo, Nicole &Neil, good song list… it’s a laid back vibe. The monthly calendar tells of upcoming events…. It really is a ‘community’ center Just a comfortable place and really good coffee! You can probably find out more about them on line

If every town had a gathering place like this, there would be a lot less loneliness. Even if you live in Gainesville or Ocala, it's not that far away and you won't be disappointed.

Make sure to check the events calendar first. The proprietor hosts many free health and wellness programs and services. Let's see. What else?
Excellent, healthy food and coffee shop. Live music. Dulcimer classes. Bridge club. Art gallery. Two gift shops with arty and unique items, frequently created by local artists and craft masters.
A writing group just started. Dine or take in a concert on the spacious outdoor patio. Maybe you'll want to start your own gig!

Basically, it's a gem of a place to hang out and meet friendly people. (I'm not an affiliate. I just go there a lot and love to spread the word.)

Small menu but staff is great and the falafel gyro is DELICIOUS! Desserts sound delicious but we did not try.

Vegetarian options: Food is all prepared onsite so can be made with or without meat. Falafel patties are homemade and delicious .

Dietary restrictions: Delicious lattes offering dairy, almond and oat milks

Parking: Ignore your GPS and just turn into Melrose Community Center from highway 26

This is not your typical Starbucks or Panera where you're a faceless customer. The staff here actually speak to people and make you feel welcome. The cinnamon roll melts in your mouth, definitely homemade. And having live music in the morning was pleasantly unusual on a rainy morning.
