Beautiful spot! Nice ambiance to have couple of drinks! Food and service excellent and delicious! Will be back soon!
Great neighborhood vibe type of place. Happy hour specials are fantastic. Food is authentic and amazing. So many unique gin cocktails that you never see anywhere else but plenty of other options if you're not into gin. Sangria was divine.
Loved Barceloneta. Food was delicious, so were the gin tonics. Beautiful space, friendly staff, a wonderful experience.
I have eaten at La Barceloneta a number of times and always felt happy to be there. Last night the entrees were not very good. The sea bass was overcooked and over sauced. The asparagus was also over cooked and stringy. The appetizers were good. The service was fine.
We had a 7:30 reservation, and the table was ready for us on time. Friday night it was very busy, but food (authentic Spanish food) was excellent. Service was very nice considering the size of the crowd. Even the desserts are outstanding. If you want the closest thing to real Spanish from Spain food, this restaurant is the best option I have found in the USA.
Decided to sit at the bar and it was lovely! Great service, drinks and food were amazing and everything came out quick! Got the Farmers & Brockmans Gin & Tonics!
Siempre elige comer afuera, adentro es como una caja de resonancia, imposible mantener una conversación
I’ve been to Barceloneta a few times and usually it is pretty average with mediocre service but nice if you can get a table outside on the couches.
Last night I sat at the bar and I have to say it was shocking and disgusting. The calamari was salty and the potatoes in the patatas bravas were clearly old and had been prepped like 2-3 days ago. The bartender was free pouring all of the drinks without even pours on the bottle, just sloshing vodka and olive juice into a shaker for the martini. The tap water was served directly from the hand wash sink, which is a DOH violation in and of itself.
But this wasn’t the worst part. The food/drink runner stood on the pass picking and digging, and I mean DIGGING at his teeth with his fingers. Then he proceeded to keep running his hands through his sweaty, messy hair as he ran food and drink. At this point me and my guest were thoroughly grossed out and stopped eating. It took almost 15 minutes for him to go and run his hands under water with no soap.
It’s sad to see that this place has gotten so run down and nasty, as there is a lot of potential and great bones. There is clearly a huge lack of management and direction in the space as all of these things are no-brainers that any manager should have corrected immediately.
The only saving grace was that the bartender was kind, otherwise I don’t really have anything good to say. I hope they read this and improve.

So disappointed with everything about my experience. Started out askit for “tap” water (nice trick to make you feel cheap), got bottled water (first date so whatever). Then I literally had to walk into the dining room to call the server to take our order because the whole staff was either sitting on the stools or chatting facing away from the guests outside. We ordered a gaspacho (was good), a large mixed seafood dish and the grilled octopus. We were never asked if one or the other was a starter, or if we were sharing. Everything came out at random times. The $33 octopus (single) tentacle was fishy, definitely not fresh, I ate maybe 1/3 of it. The seafood ceviche(ish) was also fishy. We were never offered dessert. Add a couple of drinks and the bill was $166. You’re MUCH better off grabbing a pizza next door.

Overpriced. This is not worth $26. Wish it wasn’t so. This city is out of control.
Very noisy, they should put fabric and solve the acoustic problem

Expensive but very tasty, unfortunately the acoustic issue is a problem that they do not solve, unbearable shouting
