“My two sisters and I went in on a Thursday at 6:15 with no reservations. We were warmly welcomed at the host stand and told they could seat us at the bar. We asked the host who seated us what his favorite dishes are and he recommended the creamy polenta appetizer and the pork chop. We were then greeted at the bar by Maria who was friendly and extremely helpful. She recommended a few wines and dishes and we settled on the polenta appetizer, a salad to share then we shared the spaghetti pomodoro, the mushroom pasta and the pork chop. Everything was truly delicious and we would definitely return.”

“Truly remarkable. We enjoyed the 9-course tasting menu with the wine pairing and waygu enhancement, putting dinner at $375pp including tax and tip. Worth every penny. Our primary server, Gabriela, was fantastic although several other staff members delivered our dishes, including both managers and a member of the chef’s team. I enjoyed the variance as it allows one to meet several members of the staff. Of the nine wines there was one I didn’t care for so, when asked how I liked it and said, “not so much” it was immediately replaced with a choice between two fine wines. It’s in these moments you understand the staff are true professionals providing the best dining experience possible. Gabriela, or Gaby as she prefers to be called, is a true professional The only marks against is the dress code. One gentleman at the bar was in a T-shirt and a baseball cap. Later two gentleman sat at a high top near the door, both in baseball caps. Also, the bartender was wearing a tank-top with the back cutout, something one would expect at a beach bar. The stark contrast between she and the very smartly dressed manager, Jonathan Smith, in a suit and tie, was noticeable. I’m old school dining with my 94 year old father who is really old school so my critique of attire when we’re only here for dinner may seem displaced. My apologies. For anyone looking for a remarkable dining experience in Miami Beach I highly recommend Stubborn Seed. You will leave full and an experience you’ll remember forever”

Had the Chicken Paillard which came in a very generous portion with roasted potatoes and an arugula salad and it was super tasty and fresh. “I had heard about this hot restaurant from New York that I must try, but was reticent to do so because Carbone was the name of a character from Goodfellas that Robert Deniro's Jimmy Conway whacked when tying up loose ends after the Lufthansa job! Poor sap was hanging frozen in a meat locker. I'm glad I put that imagery aside because this place was amazing! Platitudes like wonderful ambience, fine service, flavorful food, great family style dining, are all applicable but just don't capture the full spirit of the evening. From the pickled cauliflower, to the signature spicy rigatoni ala vodka (which pairs nicely with their pinot noir offering Presqu'ile), to the Caesar salad (you must have those croutons!), and their delicious Italian petit-fours, everything burst with flavor and was resplendent of the authenticity of old Venice. And since you will be spending more than a few pennies here, one must luxuriate in the mid century environs replete with Murano glass chandeliers while being serenaded with a sound track of Italian crooners like Mel Torme and Frank Sinatra in the full bela canta tradition. If you have a special occasion, Carbones Miami Beach will make for a memorable evening.”

On the first night, the linguine seafood pasta was excellent — fresh, flavorful, and I finished the whole plate. On the second day, I tried the lobster ravioli, which was rich and delicious but had a very large portion that was hard to finish. I also had tiramisu, which was creamy and satisfying.
Overall, the food is above average for a hotel restaurant, especially the seafood dishes, but portions are quite big.”

“Was a very busy location on a Sunday (24-02-18) at brunch time, had a bit of a wait. Once seated we ordered cinnamon roll crepes and the seniors French toast with a side of shredded hashbrowns. Our waitress Elena came back and said they didn’t have any crepes or French toast. Asked for what I’d like instead, so I ordered a strawberry biscuit, and she told Mike she could see if they could do his French toast on regular bread. Took quite a while but eventually got our meals. Food was good and the waitress was great despite the problems that were beyond her control. We will go back again!”

“This is a beach-view restaurant by the boardwalk in Miami Beach. The food was really flavorful, and everything we ordered was delicious. I especially recommend trying the truffle pizza. To my surprise, it was a standout dish and something I would definitely come back for. It was amazing—very thin and crisp. The sea bass was also well-prepared.

We also ordered a dozen oysters, but unfortunately almost every single one had pieces of shell in it. You have to be very careful when eating them, as we constantly had to spit out bits of shell. It seemed like they might not have been shucked properly.

We were celebrating a birthday, and while the overall experience was good, I was a bit surprised that there wasn’t even a small complimentary dessert or gesture—especially considering the bill was $400 for two people. In a setting like this, I would have expected a little extra touch for the occasion.”

“An absolutely perfect dining experience at Donatella Miami Beach last night. From the moment you walk in, you feel like you stepped into a boutique restaurant somewhere in Italy.

We started with the fresh focaccia and grilled artichokes, both outstanding. You can immediately tell everything is made with care and intention. The homemade pasta completely lived up to the hype. I had the lobster linguine which was phenomenal. Perfectly cooked, rich but balanced, and easily one of the best pasta dishes I have had. We also had the bucatini with black truffles which was just next level.

The wine pairings were spot on all night and the service was exactly what you hope for at a place like this. Attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely proud of what they are serving. The ambiance hits that perfect balance of upscale and comfortable.

If you appreciate great food, great wine, and a true hospitality experience, Donatella is a must. We will absolutely be back next time we are in Miami Beach. 🍝🍷🇮🇹🔥”

“The restaurant itself is elegantly designed and beautiful, with warm, knowledgeable staff, and outstanding food. The dishes are elevated versions of traditional Israeli or middle eastern fare and everything we had was absolutely delicious. My husband and I opted for the tasting menu with wine pairings per the suggestion of our server and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is definitely on the expensive side and there were a few unexpected fees (chef administration fee?) when the bill arrived, and gratuity is automatically included even for small parties, so just keep that in mind before you go.”

“My best friend hosted a pre-wedding dinner here 2 years ago and I still think about how wonderful the dinner and drinks were. Still the best espresso martini I've ever had. The staff were beyond friendly and accommodating. It was the perfect atmosphere for a big group celebration.
I see some of the same folks working there in recent photos even though the place has been visually rebranded. Great staff made this place great. Highly reccomended this place.”

I also had the lobster ravioli which was devine. Went with Manny’s recommendation for afogato and having never had this lovely Italian dessert I will definitely repeat.”
