You will notice it with your first bite. They had blue fin tuna specials and the otoro and a kami was worth every penny! You can also order their kitchen food, which is also very high quality. Their udon noodle is a must try, because you can tell their broth is specially made in house. The one downfall was the atmosphere. This place is packed so make a reservation or get there early. An hour wait is nothing. It is also obviously a local hotspot because it seemed the staff knew most of the customers on a first name basis. As a traveler passing by, I was pretty much waiting int eh corner watching everyone be friendly and feeling ignored. Locals were offered to order drinks while they wait, while not a word was spoken to me up until I was getting close to getting a table. But, still a 5-star in my opinion because of the food quality and the price.“

I feel after the pandemic, it's really changed the service force. It was such a fresh breath of air to have such an amazing time and service! I had a party of 11 of us for my birthday, and we were treated with smiles, and taken care of like kings. The food was phenomenal! Some of the most beautiful, fresh seafood I have ever had in my entire life. I've been traveling seven years full-time, and I will definitely be coming back just to eat here! The patio is absolutely gorgeous! It will soon be right on the ocean once they are finishing some construction! “The hostess was a little rude when we called to make a reservation but other than that, the service was spectacular. The rooftop was very vibey which was very cool. The view was better over near the bathrooms but still a great experience. The food was amazing - make sure you try the kimchi bowl and tuna rolls. They have amazing coffee as well.“

“Very nice casual sushi spot in Sunset Harbor, probably one of the best sushi restaurant in South Beach right now, sibling of Uchi Wynwood, but with more cooked options in the menu. Always very fresh fish, creative dish variations, excellent flavors pairing. I’ve never walked out dissatisfied. Now off season they have two happy hours, one regular in late afternoon and another one that starts st 9pm I believe, and the happy hour food selection is really good. Service is nice and fun. I only wish the space would have better indoor lighting and they would be open also for lunch.“

“This was my second visit to Sando Miami, and while it was a decent experience overall, there are definitely a few areas that could be improved.

This time around, I tried the pork Japanese curry and the chicken katsu. The curry was a solid 4/5, good, but nothing particularly memorable. Personally, I would have liked a bit more spice, but that comes down to preference. What stood out more to me was the portion size. It leaned on the small-to-medium side, and at $23, it felt a bit overpriced for what you get.

The chicken katsu was more reasonably priced, but unfortunately, it missed the mark. The sandwich was dripping oil, which took away from the overall experience and made it feel heavier than it should be.

All in all, Sando Miami is a decent option, but with a few adjustments, especially on portion value and execution, it could be much better.“
