“Sushi Siam is an absolute hidden gem. Their menu is extensive, featuring a mix of Thai and Japanese dishes, so there’s something for everyone.

The sushi is fresh, beautifully presented, and expertly prepared — it’s as much a treat for the eyes as it is for your taste buds. Beyond sushi, they also serve fantastic Pad Thai and Tom Kha Kai soup that are definitely worth trying.

What’s unique about this spot is that it’s almost always empty, likely because most of their business is takeout. But I actually loved the solitude — it feels like a private dining experience.

The building itself is definitely dated, giving off some serious Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom vibes (you’ll get the reference once you go). But honestly, that throwback vintage sushi restaurant vibe adds to its charm and makes the experience feel special.

“I had such a great experience at Benihana. From the moment we arrived, the service was attentive and welcoming. The chef made the whole dinner so fun and interactive—definitely more than just a meal, it's an experience. The food was fresh and flavorful. The steak was cooked perfectly, the fried rice was delicious, and everything came out hot and well-seasoned. Drinks were also really good and well presented. The only thing I would note is that depending on how busy it is, there can be a bit of a wait before the chef starts, but once everything gets going, it's 100% worth it. “I had a fantastic experience last night! The service is top tier--Marco and the rest of the staff are kind, knowledgeable, and attentive. I had the best beef carpaccio ever--try it, they put a unique spin on the traditional dish--followed by the baby artichoke hearts and accompanied by an amazing Swiss Pinot Noir from Lucas Madonia. One of the best dinners I've had in a while and I'm frequently out. Highly recommend this quirky and cool restaurant!”

“I cannot believe I had one of the best sushi in a food hall at the Miami Design District. The fish melts in your mouth and it combined so well with the sauces. I usually always order spicy mayo on the side, but it was not needed for this roll. We liked it so much that we had to buy it again. Not because we were hungry but it was just that delicious. I also tried the Wagyu hand roll and it was fantastic as well. I also loved the service and cleanliness from the place. I will definitely return to here to have this special roll again.”

“Truly remarkable. We enjoyed the 9-course tasting menu with the wine pairing and waygu enhancement, putting dinner at $375pp including tax and tip. Worth every penny. Our primary server, Gabriela, was fantastic although several other staff members delivered our dishes, including both managers and a member of the chef’s team. I enjoyed the variance as it allows one to meet several members of the staff. Of the nine wines there was one I didn’t care for so, when asked how I liked it and said, “not so much” it was immediately replaced with a choice between two fine wines. It’s in these moments you understand the staff are true professionals providing the best dining experience possible. Gabriela, or Gaby as she prefers to be called, is a true professional The only marks against is the dress code. One gentleman at the bar was in a T-shirt and a baseball cap. Later two gentleman sat at a high top near the door, both in baseball caps. Also, the bartender was wearing a tank-top with the back cutout, something one would expect at a beach bar. The stark contrast between she and the very smartly dressed manager, Jonathan Smith, in a suit and tie, was noticeable. I’m old school dining with my 94 year old father who is really old school so my critique of attire when we’re only here for dinner may seem displaced. My apologies. For anyone looking for a remarkable dining experience in Miami Beach I highly recommend Stubborn Seed. You will leave full and an experience you’ll remember forever”
