Reviews for Cafe La Trova

I had “Lechón con Chicharon”, it’s like pork shoulder cooked to tender perfection.. served over yuka (looks like potato and I found it to taste very similar to potatoes ?). On the top of that it had crunchy chewable pork grinds. The over all dish had a nice presentation and the combination of flavor and texture was spot on.It was plenty of food! I ate it ALL ?. But if I would not have been so hungry yesterday, I probably could have shared. ALSO, they had live music ? ??? full review
We visited for their second night open since shutting down for quarantine and enjoyed everything from the server, to the food, drinks, live music, and overall vibe. From the outside, the restaurant looks like any other cuban restaurant in Miami. Once inside, it is a classy, decently large space, decorated with so much fun, cuban memorabilia. There is a stage for a band to come out and sing live music. We sat at the far corner of the restaurant which still had a good view of full review
Cafe La Trova was ok. I recommend this place for drinks. The live music is great and the place is clean. The decor is just amazing. Now the down side: Food is really bad, i got the ropa vieja and it was awful, like reheated food and the rice had a taste of "box rice". My partner got the pork and yuca with chicharron and also did not like it. It truly feels like everything is just reheated, also you can't change your sides so you have to eat it as it comes or they will charge full review
