Blade Sushi @ Fontainebleau Miami
The Place:
This was our second time around visiting this restaurant however, did not review it before. It is has a very casual atmosphere, even though, you can see some of the hotel’s guesses dressed for a night out. Staff is attentive and friendly.
The Food:
Very limited menu. We ordered the Miso Soup and two Ebi Tempura. I will have to agree with some of the previous reviews that the food all together is bland. The Sushi lacks taste even after adding the classic accompaniments (On the Side) Soy sauce, Wasabi or Gari (Pickled Ginger). The soup was okay. Prices are reasonable given the quality. Better choices out here, but if you are in the area or staying at the hotel and just want a quick bite, it will do.

We would definitely give 5 for the services, especially for Belford, he’s amazing.. Food is good, most of them, especially the sushi, just miso soup and kid’s pasta are a bit salt. A big issue we can’t give it 5 is because it’s too cold of environment. We had to ask for carpets and unfortunately they need time to get it.

We had an awesome dinner at Blade! The cocktails, appetizers, sushi, and even the kids meals were all amazing. Our server recommended some really delicious options and then all paired really nicely together and it was overall an amazing experience. We tried the spicy tuna appetizer, two delicious rolls, and a few different kinds of sashimi. Everything was super fresh and delicious.
The only noticeable difference from visiting Blade in March of 2020 right before Covid is that they shortened their menu quite a bit and the dining room looks different. The hotel did a number of renovations over Covid and I think Blade was one of the areas. They also limited their hours. Only open on Friday and Saturday now. Don't let that deter you from going. Every restaurant in the FB are wonderful. Just understand you will want to make reservations well in advance, like at least a week or longer during peak times of the hotel. Winter months. Enjoy.
I ordered the half rotisserie chicken with potatoes and mushroom. The chicken was SO flavorful and filled with juices. I thought it would be dried out due to the size, but it was NOT! The portion sizes were GREAT and enough for 2 people! I shared with my homegirl. SO good! They also had really good fries!
I thought the sushi was delicious! I got the blue crab and shrimp tempura and they were both really good. I’m actually craving the blue crab and avocado one right now!

Excellent cut and beard trim!
Bossio is the Picasso of hair extraordinaire!
Milica and Julian took exceptional care of my wife and I. The sushi was excellent and our experience was great.
Despite its location this restaurant was awful. The server didn’t really want to be there and was rather miserable. One of my children didn’t even get their main food until after we had all finished eating and then when it did arrive only half of her meal was there. Instead they brought her a dessert as a starter - a very off choice! When I pointed that out it was met with a sigh. Our drinks didn’t arrive until mid way through the meal and quite frankly the sushi was ok but not the best I’ve ever had, yet it cost an arm and a leg with no offer of a reduction despite my daughter food being late arriving. I also had bones in the salmon sashimi which is highly unusual. I don’t recommend and won’t be going back. As it was our first night it didn’t really give me the best impression of the hotel.

The atmosphere, the meal fresh and exquisite, service amazing, Terence, Julian, Stefany, and rhe rest of the staff are amazing...5 🌟
Beautiful, calm, and quiet restaurant with friendly service. The menu is limited to sushi items only (rolls, nigiri, sashimi). I recommend the rolls for the value. The fish and the rolls are very good, not spectacular. They are served simply with soy sauce only. No additional sauces or tempura flakes. I got raw rolls only (and edamame). Overall I recommend for a tasty, relaxing dinner when staying at the hotel.
The food was good. Service was slow. They did bring a free saki for the wait... tip is automatically added as a service charge. Glad I noticed that otherwise I would have tipped 40%!
Haphazard service.. over an hour wait for food... sushi quality was so poor I had to send back my dish. What I sent back got returned to me to finish.
It was a special occasion and the experience was not good. Food was very delayed, it took over an hour and when it finally arrived it was barely fair, good portions but nothing was really good. Service was fine, the girl who took care of us tried to make up for the delayed food which was not her fault and we appreciate it. Music was too loud. Overall, not a good experience
