Cardozo in Miami is directly across the street from public beach access, Cardozo has bikes, beach chairs and towels available for use while you stay. Staff is awesome, we had a problem getting hot water to work, (my problem not hotels) Enzo the hotel Maintenance man came to help within minutes, so pleasant and professional we had a few laughs. The room is basic, very clean & comfortable it’s affordable so keep in mind you may not have as much room but we had basic room. I will post pics but please keep in mind it’s our mess, this is morning of leaving so clean up still needed and scattered our mess, not hotels. I’m just trying to give you basic room space layout. Bathroom has no counter but hanging hooks that our cosmetic bags were accessible. All very clean, houskeeping superior just like rest of the staff. You won’t need a car better without if your staying in the area. Great clean coffee set up every morning in the hallway. Keep in mind depending when you travel walls are thin but was not a problem for us, quite neighbor's, how much do you want to pay for your trip, clean, friendly, helpful and up to date is what you find at Cardozo:)

NEVER AGAIN!!If you like traveling halfway across the country to stay in a $550 a night hotel were The front desk clerk asked me to give him my credit cards numbers to WRITE DOWN because their POS terminal wasn't working then this is the place to lose your security. I refused intially and they agreed to let us pay the $50 incidentals deposit and $27 resort fee in the morning at checkout. Everything is kosher right? WRONG! We come back from eating and are stopped by the two clerks and threatened to be kicked out of our room at 1am because their terminal STILL isn't working so I'm told if we don't let them WRITE DOWN My credit card numbers we have to leave (Per the manager) the clerk said he talked to while we were gone. Had it not been 1am we would have left for a different hotel. It seems to me this entire front desk AND management team is incompetent at resolving anything past checking you in and even that was a process due to the broken English from the both of them. I will NEVER stay here again and I'm going to make sure everyone I know knows not to stay here if the value thier financial security.(Photo for proof below)

“BE AWARE!!!” Read this before you book this hotel! This is a dishonest business! Here are some facts I would like to share:We booked this hotel through Expedia for one night on Feb 16th. At 10pm that night, spent one hour trying to get to the hotel, the road around the hotel was all closed. Tried to contact the hotel but no one picks the phone. Contacted Expedia, their agent tried to contact the hotel, no one answers the phone either. Had to spent $600 to book a different hotel that night.Called them on Feb 17th morning, final someone picked up the phone. Explained my situation to the guy over the phone, he apologized and promised me he will proceed the refund of $546.Went on a 7 days cruise and returned Miami but the refund never happened. Called them again on Feb 25th, the guy over the phone said they never promised any refund and he will need to talk to his manager for my case. But the manager was not on shift on 25th. Will return 8am on 26th. And the staff promised me that he will ask the manager to contact me on 26th.No phone call on 26th, contacted the hotel again. Told me that the manager is actually off on 26th and will call me the next day.Until this moment, never be contact led by the hotel and neither getting my $546 refund back.At this moment, not really care about the money. All I can do is make sure to post this review and then more people can see it and avoiding this hotel!

The worst hotel ever. It not even worth one star. There is no way to drive to the hotel because both end of its way are blocked. Surrounding parkings are full. If you are travelers with luggages and kids, it is the hell right there for you. The worst part? When you call them, they tell you to walk. And then put you on hold, forever, on purpose! And be honest, this hotel looks just like a sporting house. Nono for families. Period.

We stayed at Cardozo South Beach hotel with three rooms for three nights, and we all had some thoughts about the place. When I review hotels, I usually check out the location, appearance, comfort, performance, and customer service. I gave two stars for the location and appearance, but the rest didn't do so well, losing three stars in total.First, the good stuff - the location is awesome. You're close to the beach and surrounded by great restaurants. The hotel itself looks pretty. The lobby features a charming bar/restaurant with occasional live performances. The rooms are aesthetically pleasing with white floors, selfie lights, and a modern vibe. But, here comes the not-so-good part. It feels like the hotel spent all its money making things look good but forgot about making everything work well. The elevator, which you have to use to get to your room, is tiny, shaky, and smells like sewage. (I've spotted some drain flies as well). And the rooms, although pretty at first glance, have some issues. The air conditioner in all three rooms was so noisy we could hardly sleep. Even when turned off, it made loud machine noises. The beds had stains, the walls were cracked, and the bathroom doors were heavy and slammed shut. The TV was old and didn't have many channels. Considering the hotel's price, the quality should be better. It felt more like a $60 motel than a $200 hotel. Now, let's talk about the abysmal customer service. The middle aged lady at the front desk was extremely rude. She was overwhelmed by the slightest line at the front desk. She would snap fingers, yell, sigh, and roll her eyes. Someone really needs to tell her that these behaviors are not professional at all! While my colleague was trying to ask a question during the check-in process, she would interrupt them and start yelling in Spanish, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere. Then said that she needs to do things one at a time. Dealing with people can be tough, and we get that. But if she's this easily stressed out and openly expresses her frustration to customers in the rudest way possible, she might not be the best fit to represent the hotel at the front desk. During check-out, there were two guys at the front desk and they were a lot friendlier. In summary, if you care about looking good for pictures and being close to the beach, this hotel might be okay. But if you want a quality stay with good customer service (and you don't speak Spanish), then you will be very disappointed. Overall I do NOT recommend Cardozo South Beach Hotel and will not return.

Beautiful historic hotel but the dining room and elevator smelled like raw SEWAGE. Literally couldn't ride in the elevator without covering my nose. 5 days straight and no one did anything to remedy this.

Stayed here for 3 nights for a conference in South Beach. Hotels in the area are typically overpriced, tiny, and not well maintained but I was pleasantly surprised with the Cardozo. The lobby is a little underwhelming, it's very small and the check-in desk is a little hard to find because you have to go up a staircase from the restaurant, and there's a weird odor that never really goes away. Once I was checked in though, I fell in love with my room. It was super modern and spacious. The bathroom was also very clean and nice. The bed was so comfortable, I typically have a hard time sleeping in hotels but I got the best sleep here. My only complaints about the room would be that every time the AC would turn on it would be a really loud sound, which was startling at first. And there was a giant painting/poster of a woman in my room right by my bed which was a little creepy waking up and feeling like someone was standing next to you...Lastly, I went down to the restaurant in the lobby one night to grab a quick bite and ordered the shrimp cocktail and was pretty disappointed. The shrimp had a weird taste/smell to it and it was served with a weird mayo instead of a cocktail sauce. Wouldn't recommend the food here.
