Sushi rolls were exceptional especially the Hoshi Dragon. We left room for dessert and tried the Mochi Ice Cream in Green Tea and Mango as well as the Thai Donuts…all we can say is make sure you leave room to enjoy this! Thanks Hoshi…see you real soon again.

Trust me when I say this — the place is A-OK, but only if you're okay with a side of questionable flavor and a sprinkle of regret. The service and atmosphere? Top-notch. I was almost tempted to give them five stars just for the vibe alone. But then I remembered, I’m here for the food, not just a good mood.

Now, I didn’t take any photos of the food because honestly, it wasn’t Instagram-worthy. For the eyes, it can pass — it looked pretty enough to snap, but don’t let fancy plating fool you. Looks can be deceiving, like that one friend who dresses well but can’t cook to save their life.

The only thing that saved the meal was the Takoyaki — crispy, gooey octopus bombs that actually delivered flavor. Everything else? Not so much. The Volcano Roll was supposed to be fiery, but honestly, it tasted like a California Roll’s shy, awkward cousin who forgot their spice at home. As a Californian, I can tell you — California Rolls should never be mistaken for authentic Asian cuisine. That’s like calling a tofu burger a steak.

Then came my main: Hoshi Ceviche. I love ceviche. But after a few bites, I felt my head pounding, like I’d been hit by a truck, and nausea kicked in faster than a bad joke at a family gathering. I didn’t finish it; I practically ran to my hotel room, where I now sit on the throne of regret — also known as the toilet — writing this review. The ceviche didn’t sit well, to say the least.

Now, here’s the kicker: everything else — the service, the vibe, the ambiance — was so good, I was tempted to give this place five stars just for that. But I had to go with two stars for the food, because honestly, I felt bad giving them a lower score. Plus, I think the food was trying to be polite and just didn’t want to embarrass itself in front of the staff.

So, if you’re a white person with a palate more “burger and fries” than “kimchi and spice,” go ahead and give it a shot. But if you’re Asian and know what real food tastes like, maybe skip this one unless you’re in the mood for a culinary adventure — that might involve a trip to the bathroom (or the toilet, whichever you prefer).

While the food was great and we loved the rock and roll roll, the standout of our visit was definitely the service. Cristian went above and beyond, being incredibly friendly and accommodating. He made our experience truly enjoyable
