Excellent attention from fernando!

I ordered takeout for my friend and I. My friend walked to get it from the condo we were staying at 3 blocks away. Once my friend arrived, she said they needed the receipt showing what we ordered. I took a screen shot from my confirmation email and sent it. That still wasn’t good enough to let my friend take the food. Then, she needed to show him the transaction where I paid. Once again I sent the same screenshot. That still wasn’t good enough. Only when she gave the phone to me and I asked to speak with him, did he finally let her take the food. He wouldn’t speak to me on the phone and said it was because the person ordering didn’t pick it up. Absolutely ridiculous! There is no way someone who was trying to scam them has the emailed receipt of the food chosen and payment confirmation.

The cashier told us the 18% gratuity is automatically added by the system, whether you eat in or take out. They said they can’t change it, and the tip doesn’t even go to the staff. Feels unfair to both customers and workers.

This happened around 10 PM on July 5th.

Do not be fooled by the reviews. For three people, our food cost $107. We ordered lasagna ($17), spaghetti genovese ($16), half pizza ($23), three italian sodas ($13.50), and parmesan on our pasta (comes automatically in the rest of the world) ($4). There is an 18% service charge for a restaurant where you order at the counter, you seat yourself, and take your own tray/plate to the bin! Wow. What service! There is also a 2% city tax, 6% state tax, and 1% county tax. Not knowing they were tacking on a service charge for nothing we also add a 5% tip.

The food tasted like it has been sitting for hours and was reheated multiple times. Living in New Jersey, we eat Italian four nights a week and this place was not good. I would not eat here again if it were free.
