I was expecting more food wise, the food is okay, good but is not a place I would go a second time. My recommendation; the bisque, the fried chicken, the chocolate pecan pie, and the crab, we got the meal. The paella was a big a huge disappointment. The staff was very friendly.

Wow, what a great experience. Service was second to none. George and Shantal(I think I mispelled her name), was awesome. George explained everything from the history of the restaurant to how to eat the stone crabs. There was 4 couples and everyone at our table was so happy we visited the restaurant. I can't forget the Maitre'D(Sorry I didn't get his name) again was awesome. We did not have a reservation and he seated us in less than 10minutes. If I get a chance to go back to SOBE, I'm going to Joe's.

Dining there is a pleasure. The best crab teeth. The sauce to accompany them is unique. The best key lime pie. This place is not to be missed if you want to eat the best molas and much more. You can now make a reservation.

Joe Stone Crab Miami is a great restaurant to dine and get good service. We had a wonderful lady staff helping us choosing and ordering. She has helped us with every detail also had great sense of humor. After being taken to our table everything worked perfectly. However, we had issues at the reception. We made our reservation for 19:30 and have waited to be seated for 40 minutes. Only after I have spoken to the manager and explained him that our 3 children were exhausted of waiting he found us a table in just 2 minutes. I have to express that he was very understanding and kind. From the second I met him, he introduced himself by shaking hand and keeping eye contact and resolved the situation swiftly. Unfortunately I can not make the same comment for the two gentleman at the reception. They did not give us any satisfying response when we repeatedly asked them how long would we wait to be seated. We even told them about the kids but they simply did not care. Of course after some waiting we started paying more attention to what is happenning at reception and recognised that they kept receiving tips while shaking hands from a number of customers coming in and leaving. That may be why we have waited that long. I think Joe Stone Crab needs to resolve this issue if they want to preserve their reputation.

The history of Joe's Stone Crab restaurant began in 1913, when Joe Weiss, an asthmatic Hungarian immigrant who left New York on the advice of his doctors, opened a small buffet in Miami Beach. The restaurant site was first attached to a bathhouse where Joe offered meals and lockers to bathers. The founders, Joe and his wife Jennie, soon moved into a bungalow where Joe started a restaurant, initially serving traditional seafood.Jennie, Joe's wife, strictly managed the restaurant's guest list and hosted such infamous figures as Al Capone. In the 1920s, the reputation of the restaurant was made outstanding by the fact that Joe and a marine biologist started experimenting with local stone crabs, which were not considered edible until then. Joe's cooking technique of dropping the crabs into boiling water was a huge hit and became a specialty of the restaurant. The family business continued to expand, and Joe's son, Jesse Weiss, became a key figure in the restaurant. Jesse's charismatic personality and connections attracted many celebrities to the restaurant, making Joe's a true social center in Miami Beach. Jesse's memories have been preserved by his wife and daughter, and based on these, he is considered the pride of the family and the key to the restaurant's success.Joe's Stone Crab is now more than 100 years old and continues to be a family business, where the success of the restaurant is characterized by family togetherness and long-term employee loyalty. A place of community and camaraderie since its inception, the restaurant continues to celebrate good food and community as one of Miami's iconic dining venues.
