We were sat down by the host, then asked to leave or throw out our plant based coffee we got next door because “they can’t prove whether is vegan or not” as stated by the host. In fairness there is a sign at the door stating “no food or outside drinks”. But like most people I do not stand at the door and read what is posted. I guess it is the customers responsibility to figure this out? And not the responsibility of the host that interacted with you for a couple of minutes before sitting you down, bringing menus and serving water. Pick your battles, if you didn’t catch it at the door and YOU already sat your customer down, then don’t make your customers feel uncomfortable by asking them to leave or throw out their coffee.
