My wife and I had been there a couple of times before with good experiences, but this time it was a total disaster. We decided to stay indoors because it was hot outside, but the a/c was not working well. We asked them to keep the door to the patio shut to improve it, but they refused twice. Although we were the only patrons in the room, the service was really bad: had to change courses as our choice was not available, cocktails were not correct, entrees didn't come at the same time, etc There were several waiters available - no one caring - all on their phones looking backwards to the room. We were not the only ones badly serviced - we saw people coming from the patio to complaint. All in all, a big disappointment. Our first experiences were quite good: ambiance, service, food. But the last one was a complete mess. Shows lack of management and care for the customers.
Portions are pretty small & Walters do Not react even they are standing with nothing to do. The kebap is only spicy and Not tastful. Prices are in no Relation Go quality and quantity. And 20% tip are charged on top, a lot for this poor service!
The food was good with the exception of the orzo... it was very mushy and over cooked. I have had this dish before and really enjoyed it, it must have just been off last night! The mushroom appetizer was outstanding

Food was fantastic. Don't sleep on the mussels or the eggplant toast. The cocktails were great and we loved the vibe of the restaurant. Felt like we were transported to a different world when we walked in. Overall had a fantastic meal at an unassuming place. Will return.
Food was fine, but the service was very poor. Inattentive and unhelpful waiter; had to wait eons to get water or a dessert menu. To our horrow, towards the end of the meal, a rat scurried by, and when we told our waiter, he just nodded and shrugged like it was nothing out of the ordinary. Would not return.
As always, Layla delivers! Delicious food, beautiful, relaxing atmosphere, pleasant, efficient staff. This is my go-to place when friends visit and want to take me out. Great mezze selectin plus delicious entrees. I especially love the grilled octopus and the bronzino. We will be back!
Delicious Levantine cuisine in an attractive setting on the canal. Everything was excellent, the only gripe - the salad was a bit over dressed (oily), but nothing that a lighter touch with olive oil won't cure. Recommended!!
Service was very poor and staff don't really try to be available for customers, I have to ask them to clear the table, pour my own wine, walk to them to give them The bill and pay, etc. Food is very much tasteless, no salt, no seasoning and entrees somehow finish before Appetizers. Restaurant has no sealed water so if You don't mind drinking tap water then you're good.
I've been to Layla a few times before and was so excited to go back because absolutely loved it. This time it was quite disappointing. I had the same dishes I've had before and they were subpar at best, plus they raised the prices from just a few months ago. I'm not sure if the kitchen team changed, or it was just a bad night, but I don't plan on going back.

Dinner was alright. Overall the ambiance was the best part. We were seated next to the water and all 8 of us at a couple of lounge tables for a birthday. The food was alright but the server kept reminding us about certain things that we were ordering, almost as if we didn't hear the first time or as if we've never been out to eat. Half of the table worked in the service industry so it was a bit much. He also put in two orders that we actually didn't request, he just overheard one person from our party ask amongst ourselves if we were interested and I was a little peeved that he took it upon himself to place the order for those two items without confirming. We also made it clear to our server and the hostess that we were celebrating a birthday, and we thought that without a doubt we would at least get a candle on our dessert to sing happy birthday to the person we were celebrating, especially since we mentioned it a couple of times. There were PLENTY of people at the table to sing happy birthday, so we DEFINITELY were NOT expecting the servers to come and do it for us, but a candle seemed to have been the obvious, yet ignored route here. This place is nice for a couple cocktails and a good vibe but the rest isn't exactly what I was expecting.
Been here many times before and it's changed quite a bit and not for the better. Atmosphere and service are still good but the downsized menu and wine list are showing. We had the lamb as we've had many times before and it seems a different dish. Gotta say I was not happy, go figure. Not sure what to say or do, things change I guess, pretty sure I won't be back, that's the saddest part.
We recently enjoyed our second visit to Layla. It is a nicely decorated tapas-style Mediterranean joint with a good cocktail menu. The food is consistently good and the staff is friendly. The outdoor terrace overlooks a canal and provides a romantic atmosphere (the road on the other side of the canal is shielded by trees). It’s a nice date spot and the the salads are particularly good.
The flavors are amazing and the ambience is so cute (sit outside). The portions are so small and the service was extremely slow and rude at times. Would love to come back if they increase the portions and improve the service.
Tourist trap. Food was terrible, dry, tasteless. Drinks watered down . Place is cute, but nothing special. Wouldnt go back again ( to the restaurant atleast didnt see the rooftop bar)
