This place is delicious. I've gone twice in two weeks. Surprisingly, my 1 year old loves the Veggie fried rice. Sushi, salads, and soup are great, too! I will be returning again. Service is amazing. In the midst of my toddler playing with the chopsticks, service did not give me the side eye. This place should have a 5 star.

Can’t say enough about Makoto - from the food to the service, everything was 5 stars. We spent our last night of vacation at Makoto for an early dinner. We arrived at 5pm (with a reservation) and were promptly seated on the outdoor terrace. First, the vibe here is awesome - super bright and fun colors, very clean and comfortable for a dinner. The food here is absolutely incredible, it definitely gave me “tapas” vibes, so come hungry and order a variety. The food was so flavorful - like seriously the best meal I’ve had in a while, all very fresh and well prepared. Finally what really put this place over the top was the service - to me this was 5 star service, we never waited for the server and they were able to assist us quickly without ever hovering or rushing us. Makoto is an expensive choice for dinner, with our bill for 2 people being $300 after gratuity, but it was 1000% worth the price and you cant say that about other places in Miami.

One of the best sushi restaurants in Miami. Try the toro. Hot stone wagyu too. You won’t regret it!

I came to the bal harbour shops and came across this gem. I came during peak lunch time and it was definitely for a Thursday pretty packed. Love the relaxed ambience overlooking the mall. I sat outside by the bar and loved it. Very attentive wait staff which is great because I was there for lunch and in a hurry for work! I ordered the sushi bento box and the spicy tuna crispy rice. The spicy tuna crispy rice I think I wanted to eat 50 of them but sadly only came with 4. The bento box was great bang for your buck as I couldn't finish the meal. Fresh sushi and quick service made it a perfect lunch spot!

Delicious. Depending on appetite, you’ll likely need to order more than one main dish, or several appetizers and an entree - small portions. The sushi seemed very fresh - the tuna was in the ocean earlier in the day.

Don’t know what the big deal is it’s basically mid sushi at a higher price point. I got the sushi/sashimi omakase for $60 during lunch. Whoever is preparing the sushi was clearly not trained to do it well because all of my pieces were smothered with wasabi. That’s not what you do in a more traditional Japanese restaurant when serving sushi. If the fish is sufficiently fresh then there’s no need to add it, this definitely masked the taste and led me to believe it wasn’t fresh. Also as a side note, where are the chopstick holders? Sorry, just felt a lil off with the lack of attention to detail.

It’s always a great dining experience at Makoto. The interior is designed beautifully. They have awesome cocktails, and beer & wine selections. Sushi and appetizers are solid.

Came here with my sister for lunch. Even though we didn’t have a reservation, they satisfy quickly we sat outside on the porch and the music was perfect. It wasn’t too loud. It was busy, but because we were outside it was also not too loud with everyone speaking. The service was overall good although they did get one item on our order mixed up. I recommend the Mezcal drink I forgot the name. We had an amazing scallop Crudo that was probably my favorite item alongside the lamb and the sauce that the lamb came with. We also had the spicy tuna, crispy rice, as well as a yellow tail roll and grilled avocado. The grilled avocado is amazing and I’ve had it several times here.even though they did mess up one item, they immediately corrected it. I would definitely come here again and again.
