This spot was a hidden gem for a family breakfast at a decent price. Best Cafe Latte ever had. Forget Starbucks! They had small bites, guava empanadas, croquettes, eggs (fried/scrambled), pancakes, sausages. The service was friendly and popular amongst locals. Also visited for dinner.

It isn't a trip to Miami without a stop at the Tropical Beach Cafe. Their food is authentic Cuban and portions are generous.

This place was great for afternoon lunch. I'd passed it many times while visit Miami Beach & finally decided to grab some food on my last day. Great decision! Service was friendly, I ate outside since it was a nice day. I ordered lechón asado with congrí & tostones. First, so much food! I was able to have leftovers for dinner. Everything was delicious. The lechón was seasoned so well & the tostones the right amount of crispy. I also got a cafe con leche to go. Delicious. Shout out to the wrapping on top, I didn't spill that drink on route to the airport! And the price was great, everything for less than $15.

This restaurant was pretty close to our hotel, so four of us ended up walking over to eat dinner. Our waiter was super chill and funny, even complimented my nails! He spoke to us about the city because two of us had never been there and he conversed with the other two about their knowledge of the city because they live there. The food was very good, the rice and beans and plantains were the stars of our dinner that night! I also really enjoyed the blackberry juice and mango smoothie; definitely a must try!

This was a hit or miss. We went for dinner in our party of 4 two dishes were delicious two were not, so it depends what you order. I am cuban so I compare to my aunt's amazing home cooking. Pan con lechon, churrasco, yellow rice all delicious. But the palomilla lacked flavor and was dry, the white rice and congri was a bit hard and not very hot. Oddly each of our meals came at different times. Also a bit pricey for a very diner-esh cafe.

I was so looking forward to an authentic Cubano. Previous reviews were great. Not so much. The empanada was great, but the sandwich was super thick cut processed turkey, not sure what the other meat was on the sandwich. Dry - no dressings at all. We arrived 30 minutes before closing, placed a to go order of 2 sandwiches yet made to feel we were putting them out even being there.

Our hotel clerk recommended Tropical Beach Cafe for a late breakfast. Food was fresh, hot and wonderfully prepared. We'll be back for more.

Ok - do not get this place confused with the Tropical Beach Cafe at the EDITION :) This namesake is about 200 meters from the EDITION - if you are fussy about decor and ambience -- this is not your place to visit If you want some amazing cuban food , authentic, wholesome and huge portions - that will not break the bank - this place is a MUST visit .

If you are looking for very good food and nice service, and you do not mind a very simple place, then do not go further and visit Tropical Beach Cafe. We followed the recommendations of many trip advisor reviews and can absolutely confirm the very good rating. We had fish, Cesar's salad, and cheeseburger and all was excellent. In particular the fish (grilled swai) was superb and you could not expect a better taste in a fine dining restaurant.

No service. Went here twice during "open hours" and no one to be found to serve us. It's a shame, we really wanted to try it here!

This little hole in a wall will fool you!! I walked in with no expectations & I couldn’t be happier with what I paid for. Yes, they charge service fee & container fee for takeout, but for $20 you just can’t beat it!! We had it for lunch & returned for dinner!! It was full of fresh fish, calamari, large shrimps, & scallops, on top of the juicy flavorful yellow rice! We’ve had seafood paella in NYC/NJ, Barcelona, Costa Rica, & many more Caribbean countries & this one was by far the best!! Needless to say, we will be returning ?

We decided to try this place because the menu and prices seemed reasonable. We ordered the food to go but when presented with the bill before the food was prepared, it was much higher than expected. One menu item was higher than stated on the menu and the waitress tried to convince us it was all done by the computer: no apology and offer to correct the bill. We then noticed a 15% gratuity applied to a carryout order and additional take-out container fees. This all might have been understandable if they had been disclosed at the time of ordering. We do not support such sneaky and unethical business practices.

The 2nd day at Miami beach, I walked in this small cafe near to my hotel. I saw and ordered "Seafood Paella" from the menu without much expectation. Waited for almost 30 min, it finally came out and I understood why it took this long, the paella was finely prepared, lots and lots of various freshly cooked seafood on the top, underneath was a thin layer of rice fully soaked in very tasty seafood juice and soup. It was delicious and one of the best seafood paellas I had ever had, much better than some I tasted in Barcelona and Madrid, probably cooked for travelers (sorry).

We weren't "too hungry", so the wife and I ended up ordering the clam chowder, a cocktail and wine. We thought that would be it for dinner. Well, the view was good so we stayed long enough and ordered a few more cocktails and a burger.Would HIGHLY recommend this place. Our server (Rafael from FL) was friendly and hospitable. Didn't bother us while eating, but made great recommendations and always refilled our drinks/was alert to our needs. EASY 4 STARS. Great spot if you're in fisherman's wharf!
