A place far from the cool standards of South Beach but good food, generous portions and honest prices (obviously we are in Miami Beach). Not frequented by tourists but frequented by locals and this makes us appreciate even more the charm of a place that has existed for fifty years.
There are a few old school Cuban joints on Miami Beach that will make you feel like walking into a twilight zone, Puerto Sagua is one of them. Old school dinner, 50/50 local vs. tourist, maximized table spacing, very quaint. I think the servers there have been there since they opened, everything is ordered on a check book, no computers, no tablets here, my friend. You will feel bad paying with a credit card.
The food is nothing fancy, good Cuban comfort selections....

This place feels like an old school, no frills spot with delicious food. Although the prices are not cheap it feels authentic in a touristy area. The service was excellent. The waitress was attentive and reheated the skirt steak that was a bit too rare without hesitation. We ordered the oxtail (very flavorful), cubano sandwich, and skirt steak. All were good. Will try again.
