Summary: Great for some birthdays, large groups of people you might not want to actually converse with, and for those without noise induced ptsd.
Will try every other Greek restaurant on the island before returning, though might consider a to go order of dolmades and tzatziki.
Our full experience: After a less than perfect apartment shopping day, our friendly realtor recommended Santorini for Greek food, and I suppose a true Miami scene experience, though for some reason we weren’t expecting that part. While perusing our menus, we were alerted to 3 birthday celebrations at other tables, complete with not one, but two dish smashings per celebration. The staff strategically throws a plate on the ground in time with music. We are assuming this is an authentic practice.
The music this night, which is always an exciting element at a restaurant for me, is a mix of Creative Commons tracks with a live electric violin player, whose reflection could not be seen in the cloudy green pool he plays in front of, which our table was also located next to. We figured out the pool is for the hotel guests and the mix of scantily clad humans lounging and frequenting trips to the bathroom is a constant source of observable entertainment. We could also view, and hear the children playing in the pool over the music, but their decibels were overshadowed by the regular smashing dishes.
Earplugs were helpful for one of our party who is challenged by loud environments.
We ordered five plates, beginning with the dolmades which were a highlight for their creamy texture and delightful mint flavor bursts. The spanikopita was solid in texture and flavor, a more dough less spinach pastry style. Shout out for the tzatziki which also was quite good.
Low lights include seeing someone slip on a broken plate that hadn’t been swept up (more than 10 minutes after that particular birthday celebration), noticing children continue to run barefoot around the pool with broken plates in potential path, and, the though unsurprising, brimming over plate of tzatziki that was placed on our table after we had finished our meal, with an accompanying $8 side dish charge. I had asked for a little more tzatziki mid meal, which came in mid sized ramekins with just about every dish. I was happy to take it home, it was delicious. But this approach to service doesn’t usually garner the overall five stars that we have given Santorini here.
Additional fun topics included contemplating Santorini’s monthly dishes budget, and excitement over what was inside the ground score from the bathroom.

Wow! Santorini is an extraordinary restaurant. We came from New York and was met by Giorgio himself with the warmest welcome. The place is beautiful without being pretentious. But nothing compares to the food! Our attentive and sweet waitress Maya guided us through the menu and every single item was beyond delicious. This restaurant is a real gem. Run don't walk to try it - it will be your new favorite too!!

Honestly would not recommend. The restaurant setting is pleasant enough but for dinner there are so many better options. The service was abrupt and unhelpful. The noise level at times was truly unpleasant - randomly blaring instrumental songs then having other parties adjacent breaking glasses. The menu listed GF options and DF options, but when we requested either, we were told "they don't have that, I don't know why that is even on the menu". We left most of our entrees unfinished to escape the loud, awkward atmosphere and feel that we overpaid for the entire experience.
Very good food and atmosphere. Great service and the only place in South beach where we weren't forced to tip 20%. We were happy to tip 20% but appreciated that it wasn't mandatory.
For a Greek restaurant I found that there were a lot of Italian options and not as many Greek. Disappointed they didn't have souvlaki and that you had to pay extra for potatoes or vegetables to accompany the main, so even though the entrees are lower in price for this area ( south beach) when you add a vegetable and potato it makes it quite high, no pita bread to accompany the main it is also extra. Calamari was good , tender and hot , mains were only so so. Was also disappointed that no belly dancers as advertised that they had them. Had a violinist instead who was ok.
All is a great time at Santorini. The staff is very attentive and caring provide. The food is always good.
A hidden gem. Worth finding. Food was excellent! Definitely eat here when in Miami Beach Portions are huge and can be shared.
Restaurant has an indoor space and an outdoor space by the pool of the Hilton hotel. Food is good and portion sizes are large. Service was not the best as the staff are not very friendly. Overall it was an okay experience.
The food and service was just okay. The atmosphere is tables in front of the pool so if children are still swimming at dinner time- that's what you will be hearing and possible getting wet. The steam kabobs were cooked well done and the meat was tough. The chicken kabobs seemed to be reheated / rubber like consistency.
