Mediocre food and service. I didn't appreciate being forced to pay an entertainment fee—if that's part of the experience, it should be clearly disclosed at the time of booking. This was never mentioned when I made the reservation, and I would have chosen a different restaurant had I known. In my opinion, there are far better Turkish restaurants in Miami (El Turco, for example).

Our dining experience at Sumak was a delight. While the dishes are rich in Turkish culture and tradition, our cocktails were modern and very cool. This is a great combination. Yasin, our server, made wonderful recommendations and his hospitality made us feel comfortable. Special thanks to owner that greeted us and rest of the Sumak team. Sumak is a Miami gem.

First and foremost, I must say I would have given this restaurant 5 stars, except I found the dress attire of the other diners to be unacceptable. This restaurant is an intimate, elegant and sophisticated establishment; shorts, sweatpants, t-shirts, sneakers, screaming kids with tablets and bad manners should not be allowed indoors. Those type of people are best suited for a patio, OUTSIDE. The restaurant boasts two large scale chandeliers, vaulted ornate ceilings, leather nailhead chairs and lovely tables. The serveware is of intricate silver ordained with mesmerizing patterns. The decor is PERFECTLY appointed for the sophisticated, the worldly, the traveled, the elegant and cultured. To say the food was delicious is an understatement; to say the service was great does not do the staff which catered to me justice. I hope the owners realize how amazing of an establishment they have created and demand that each customer treats it as such. Thank you, for allowing me to experience, your experience.

Delicious Turkish food. We took advantage of the happy hour menu to order a number of small plates, followed by a couple of appetizers off the regular menu. Many choices for vegetarians.
