Amazing place, good ambiance, excellent attentive service and really good Turkish food, Chicken Shish was tasty and tender and the homemade desserts are definitely worth trying
The wait time was LONG. Servers kept on forgetting about us. They overcharged us, food quality is poor, and service is terrible. We had a very bad experience. In response to the owners comment, I again testify that I visited this place with my family on 10/18/2025, and the owner should consider taking this feedback constructively and carefully ponder about it. The happy hour menu has misleading prices, inaccurate information and the staff is trouble communicating effectively. Absolutely terrible experience. As a proof that this review is completely honest and accurate, I am adding a photograph of the food. These three lamb chops were worth $40 and they tasted like chalk.
All in all, if I had a rating lower than 1 and google allowed me to give a negative rating worse than zero, I would had given that to Sumak.

The food is absolutely delicious — especially the Adana kebab, eggplant purée, and that warm, fresh bread… everything is just perfect! The service is outstanding, the team is friendly, and the atmosphere is both elegant and welcoming. You feel completely at home, yet you’re dining in one of Miami’s most special restaurants.

I’ve been to SUMAK Restaurant many times, and every single time I think the same thing: I honestly can’t understand how anyone could leave a negative review about this place. This is one of the very few restaurants in Miami that truly represents authentic Turkish cuisine.
From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warmth, the aroma of the charcoal grill, and a beautifully designed atmosphere filled with copper details and rustic textures. Every corner reflects intention — from the lighting to the décor.
As for the food — the quality of the meat, the variety of appetizers, the presentation, and the taste are all beyond excellent. Especially the Adana kebab, eggplant purée, and muhammara are my personal favorites. Every bite feels like sitting at a traditional ocakbaşı in Turkey. The chef’s mastery and attention to quality ingredients are unmistakable.
The service team is always friendly, professional, and attentive. Even on busy nights, they handle everything smoothly. And the overall ambiance makes it so much more than just dinner — it’s an experience.
To those who leave negative reviews, I can only say this: either they don’t truly understand Turkish cuisine, or they’ve missed the soul of SUMAK. Because here, everything is built on effort, tradition, and heart.
