A hidden gem in Sunset Harbor where all the locals go. Exceptional quality ingredients, thoughtfully prepared food, unpretentious atmosphere, great music, sophisticated decor, and the BEST staff and service in Miami. After 20+ years in Miami, this is our favorite sushi spot. If you like sushi and genuine Asian fusion dishes, this is the spot. Posers and influencers need not visit. Save Sushi Garage for us locals.

The executive chef of this restaurant must be on vacation or something. The sushi felt old trom the rice to the fish. I dont know how this restaurant is still open.

This used to be my favorite Happy Hour spot. We went last night, and the quality of food, drinks and service has gone way downhill. They didn’t have Salmon or Tuna (yikes), and our server got our drinks wrong 4 times, and the drinks were not good. The margarita was undrinkable, and the sushi didn’t taste fresh. It’s unfortunate because this used to be a great local spot.

If you want sushi-it’s not a place…prices are high for the food served… half of the ingredients were not even available. Fish was as thin as piece of paper - u basically eating rice . We asked to substitute for unavailable ingredients (tuna)- they refused… atmosphere was not much of it. No ambience at all.Server was nice . Similar to sushi from the grocery store - but bill was high.. would not recommend .Dietary restrictions: Gluten free was not available except for one or two dishes from the whole menu

Aside from its marginally interesting decoration, this place has nothing to offer. Service was terrible and so was the food. The waiter forgot our drinks and then brought out one of the two entrees before any appetizers. 30 minutes later he came back to inform us that one of the drinks we ordered was not available. As far as the food goes, you truly can get better food at a grocery store. The fried rice with tenderloin had only half a teaspoon of meat in it and the sushi was basically all rice and greens with no fish. When we asked the waiter why the fried rice didn't come with meat as advertised he said " the meat shrinks when cooked" and stated management would not fix the dish. That being said, the prices still reflect those you would find at any high-end Asian fusion restaurant.I highly recommend going to Pubbelly or Tanuki instead and avoiding this establishment at all costs.

Awful service. Showed up at 6pm with no reservation. 20 tables were open . Hostesses (who could barely communicate coherent sentences) told us there was no reservation table due to reservations (with attitude). We left . Made a reservation on the app for shortly there after ( availability showed for 615, 630, 645 and 7) we were told that even with a reservation they could not accommodate us. Rude. Entitled. Awful.

Horrible experience. Happy hour menu is not a deal. They just cut in half regular menu but you get half as much. Service is horrible. Drinks are skimpy. Avoid.

I had dinner in this place, we ordered sushi where apart from the very small portions, the fish was practically non-existent, while the nuddles were sent back because they were full of sauce and the chicken was dry.Dinner lasted 15 minutes because after we were seated at 9.15 and shortly after ordering the first courses, they told us that we could no longer order because the kitchen was closing at 10.

It was a good ride, but no longer worth going to Sushi Garage as there are a plethora of better sushi options in MB and vicinity. I’ve been in the industry for over 20 years and have been going every month or so for 8 years since it opened, but just can’t continue to contribute to a poorly managed restaurant. What used to be a happy hour stalwart, the quality has slipped, chefs have moved on and a general lack of oversight by management. The sushi roll rice was as old, cold, and as glutinous as Publix rice, that did it for me. It was the last straw. I’m guessing too much turnover has slowly driven this place. There is a reason this place went from 4.7 stars to now 4.0 stars. The numbers do not lie. Locals know it has dropped in quality and there are much better options.
