First time coming in from out of town and I wanted a nice place for sushi and a drink. Sat down at the bar and was immediately greeted by a very sweet blonde lady. Great service, everything came out quickly, and everything was absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a good spot in town!

It used to be very presentable place now they got manager with wet shirt, smelling like sweat and looking nothing but presentable, hostes and servers touched dog that was sitting RIGHT BY THE BAR multiple times with both hands. Both never washed hands and we saw them grabbing food right away. Food taste like spoiled rotten dog food. Bartender French woman doesn’t bother to hide that she is eating right at the bar. Place is more like a fast food not a restaurant. Terrible experience.

I recently visited Tanuki in South Beach and Frenchie, the bartender, made my experience unforgettable. The drinks are delicious and the food is always consistent. Frenchie is fun, and an incredibly personable bartender! I highly recommend. Great happy hour and great vibes!

Amazing place to dine in for anyone who loves sushi cuisine. I recently brought my dad and sister here for my birthday and we all could not get enough of the great food and wonderful service. The spicy edamame, tuna tataki and pork belly fuku bun were delicious. The Singapore and Shanghai noodles are also to die for. Go during Happy Hour, that is the best time and bang for your buck. Cocktails are masterfully prepared by Patricia, one of the best bartenders there. She’s known as “Frenchie” to her customers and she is very service-oriented, people-friendly, attentive and just an overall delight to be around. Tanuki is my new favorite place to go when I’m having a craving for yummy sushi and cocktails. 5-star quality and service!

Tanuki Miami isn’t just the best modern Asian restaurant in the city because of its exceptional sushi and dim sum; it’s also because of incredible staff like Patricia. From the moment you sit down at the bar, you can feel Patricia’s high energy and enthusiasm radiating throughout the room. Her genuine kindness and friendly demeanor make everyone feel welcome, whether you’re a first-time visitor or a regular.
What sets Patricia apart is her attentiveness and care. She somehow manages to remember every detail, no matter how small, ensuring every drink is mixed to perfection and every guest feels like they are her top priority. She goes above and beyond to create a memorable experience, making you feel like you’re not just a customer but part of the Tanuki family.
If you’re looking for an unforgettable evening filled with outstanding cocktails and warm, personalized service, Patricia is the bartender who will make it happen. Tanuki Miami is lucky to have her, and so are its guests!

It was closed, permanently m. We took an Uber from our hotel to a strange neighborhood , it was storming and it was closed. OpenTable should have that on their site or take this down

You shouldn't expect the usual USA service here in South Beach, as in most restaurants the tips are already added to the price of the meal - whether you want it or not. In other words, the ladies and gentlemen from the service have no reason to put in a lot of effort. Our food for 4 arrived at different times, water wasn't just available, but only upon request and we also had to actively order the bill.
So please look at your bill before you pay and if it says “service fee or gratuity”, the tip (usually 20%) has already been added. Our lady wanted an extra tip when paying with a card and was a bit annoyed when we declined, but this service was never worth more than 20%.
The food was different: it was incredibly good! Perfectly seasoned, good quantity, well prepared and clearly high quality ingredients! I can fully recommend the ramen (all types) and the fried rice with pork!
