First time being in Miami and the host upfront sold us on coming in. Sat outside to people watch the beach traffic and service was good. Definitely pricey as all the restaurants in this area are, but my wine and mahi mahi was great. Enjoyed my meal and had a nice time.

My husband and I had breakfast here. We both ordered the chicken and waffles and a couple drinks. The chicken was seasoned and flavorful and the waffles were just right. I ordered a pina colada and my husband ordered a tequila sunrise; along with two orange juices. Everything was great and the portions were filling. We'd go back again.

We've had a pretty good breakfast here! Nice view as well, pretty great place for a good breakfast or lunch.

They've come a long way. When I ate here over a year ago, the food was great, but I was frustrated with the service, the service charge and the server's inability to remember to honor the 50% off deal they promised. I've come back twice since and had amazing food, amazing service and the prices have been great. The servers are extreme kind and very friendly. Awesome!

My wife really enjoyed their signature drink which was served in a penguin shaped container. My mojito was well made. Prices were reduced during happy hour, which made them reasonable. The food was better than average..

Great place and great staff. The manager meets you at the front and seats you. Staff was professional and the food was great. Best breakfast in Miami Beach.

This place is exactly what we were looking for. Quick, high quality brunch. From the host to the food, all high class. Enjoyed my French toast so much and their house potatoes were cooked in salsa which was a nice surprise. If you're looking to be treated very well and have a nice meal, definitely go here.

I absolutely the Penguin cafe! I moved down to south beach from NYC about two months ago and have eaten here at least 6 times already, for breakfast or brunch! It's not a fancy place but it's a cool setting and the food is great, but the best part is the $25 pitcher of mimosa, Bellini, margarita, etc. that you become eligible for when you order a meal. They also do BOGO drinks (like many other places in SOBE) from 3-8pm, another steal when you start to realize just how expensive it can be to live on the beach. I recommend both the Egg Benedict traditional as well as the Crab cake Benedict!

Purple Penguin is the restaurant inside the Penguin Hotel, facing the strip on Ocean Drive. We were greeted warmly and immediately seated. The ambiance is pretty average but you do get a good people watching view both from the patio and inside. Our waiter was very friendly and had a positive attitude. They serve breakfast all day, along with an array of lunch and dinner items. The only negative here is that the food took a reallllly long time to come out. My dish was the Steak and Eggs. Two sunny side up eggs were paired with a 10oz churrasco and potatoes or a fruit cup. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and liberally seasoned so it was super flavorful. I went with the fruit cup to stay light and it was average, but the steak is what really blew me away and I would definitely recommend it.

Tremendous breakfast after watching the sunrise. French Toast! Highly recommended! Friendly service!

The service, location, and drink specials make this place a nice stop while in South Beach. Our server was great, we were there during lunch so drinks were buy 1 get 1 free, and you get a view of South Beach. The Beach is right there. Was a very chill place to grab lunch and have a drink. The food was average, not bad, but not memorable. This is a perfect place for drinks with breakfast or mid day for drinks and appetizers.

Service very slow, although they have staff not busy. Only one waitress spoke English, difficult to order. The meal was good though.
