The staff was incredibly friendly and made me feel right at home. The vibe of the place is extremely nice, with a unique charm that’s hard to find in the U.S. If you want real Italian food and a welcoming atmosphere, this spot is a must. Via Emilia is an absolute gem. The menu is authentically bolognese in every detail and praised by all my friends from Bologna, the quality of the ingredients is top notch, and the execution+presentation of each dish has left all the guests I've taken here stunned.
I've come here several times, the first time my face melted on the gnocco fritto + prosciutto, a simple dish where the quality of the ingredients make the difference between a disappointment and an unforgettable experience. Then I had their spaghetti con le vongole, a dish that I don't order that often but after that evening I couldn't stop thinking about. Other dishes that cannot be missed are the cotoletta alla bolognese and the tortellini with parmesan cream, although honestly you can't go wrong with any item on the menu.
The staff and the chef are incredibly friendly (and good looking although this doesn't matter!) and they show concretely their appreciation for a regular customer. The physical space is also worth a mention: upscale while not pretentious, cozy while not divy, stylish while not overwhelming it's equally fit for an intimate date, a quiet evening with a good friend and a prime choice of a destination to leave an impression (on eg a special visitor). I really love the little touch of the vintage musical instruments hanging from the wall here and there.
