It had been quite some time since I came here but recently came back once a week and never been disappointed. Oysters are fresh, the branzino is fantastic. My wife loves the risotto de masitas as she won't eat masitas de puerco anywhere else. I do have to say the ice cream with the chocolate souffle was bland. Everything else was great. Only the service exceeded the food.

All's good. Food was good. I was a little taken back by the bill. Some things are extra such as coffe and dessert that's OK. However when I looked at the bill that I sign, credit card payment, it looked high with the add an 18-25% tip. I looked at the itemized bill, separate and below the bill that I sign. Item by item. Subtotal + Tax + Gratuity. What you want to double dip and have me tip the Subtotal + tip the Tax (does that go to the state tax people) + tip the Gratuity a second time. Huh watch your bill they don't tell you they're asking for a second tip. Gratuity plus a second tip would equal to over a 40% tip.
Food was OK just watch the bill

My only complaint is that it was so noisy that my husband, sitting inches from me , could only hear me if I shouted. For that reason, it wasn't relaxing and I'd not likely to go back on a weekend night.
As usual, Cafe Catula never disappoints. Superb selections combined with excellent service and a charming ambiance. What more can you ask for?
Please, don’t ever change.

Coming to Café Catula to try the Miami Spice menu and I absolutely loved everything I ate. It is a good place to celebrate or simply spend a pleasant and different time with friends. The food is made to high quality standards and the staff who serve you make you feel welcome. The atmosphere is as if you are eating inside an art gallery and the music is very appropriate. I will definitely come back

We go here very often because the food is exceptional. Carlos our server was great. Hard to get good service in restaurants nowadays. This place is a must if you haven't been. All around a great experience.
Family birthday dinner. Food was good, but the quality was not as good as previous visit. I ordered the lobster ravioli. They were a little dry, but the sauce was very tasty. COD croquettes were also good and the veal. Great ambience. A lot of art work on the walls and sculptures. The service was alright. The young man assisting our waiter with the bread and water had excellent manners. The waiter was a little bit off. Not as helpful. I would recommend.

Although we had reservations we had to wait but it was worth it. The food here is excellent and so are the drinks, they have a great bartender. I went with their Miami spice menu this time, which by the way had excellent choices. Furthermore the service is wonderful! I love this restaurant I highly recommend it!
Cafe Catula was excellent- service, drinks, food. My only complaint is with Open Table as there was no reservation under my name, luckily there were empty tables to accommodate us three. Next time I'll call the restaurant directly and reserve. Thank you.
Everything is great, the only thing they lack is music. The Restaurant is noisy because it doesn't have insulation and soft music would be a great addition. The ladies bathroom has great music, it would be great to add it to the Restaurant as well.
Tipping is not optional!
If you don't leave 18%, the manager will ask you for it! If you don't leave that % it's because you don't deserve it! The salad was bad and they didn't replace it, but do they ask for more tip?

Café Catula is one of my favorite restaurants in the Kendall area. The décor is superb with the beautiful artwork on display that is accompanied by a well-leveled background music. The place is excellent for a date night. We tried the croquetas de chorizo and tostones with shrimp to start. The shrimp was amazing. We also ordered the sunset snapper and the corvina aragosta. They did not spare on the crab meat for the corvina, and we loved it. However, the sunset snapper was my favorite, the citrous white wine sauce with capers was the perfect accompaniment for the fish. Each of the entrees came with two sides. For dessert, we had the crepe and it was also delicious. The staff was very friendly and well trained in hospitality. One could tell our waiter knew what he was doing, from the timing of bringing our food to refilling our wine glasses. We will definitely return.
