I been on La Mar many times and always had outstanding service, except yesterday. We ordered our drinks as we always do before ordering our meals and enjoy the sunset with no rush. The waiter kept coming back to our table to ask us for our orders, I started to get a little annoyed but told him politely we usually come to La Mar to enjoy the sunset having our cocktails before our meals, then he AGAIN return and told us we needed to order because they needed the table free for next customer… I looked the time and it was 45 min since we arrived at the table. I was really upset and told the waiter that I been in this place many times and never was rushed before like he was doing to me. I told him that is not the way to treat an old customer. I saw the manager Mr. Alessandro Scanu passing by and stopped him to tell what happened, we was not seating at the table sipping water and trying to steal the view and time from the restaurant, we actually consumed 5 drinks in 45 min I had two cocktails, a large bottle of Pelegrino and my husband had two beers, so I didn’t see any reason to be rushed like this, not the proper way to treat a patron. He apologized and said they are in a schedule for the tables, I said no problem, I never was treated that way before in ANY places I been in Miami or anywhere else and that would be probably my last visit there and returned to the table and asked the check for the waiter. I was fuming, that really ruined the evening I planned. And I start to search for other restaurants I use to go to switch dinner places but unfortunately it was all booked, I was just going to go back to my place and order dinner. Then the manager came to my table and apologized again and begged for us to stay and give one more chance to them, he offered to us a free round of cocktails of our choice and kept insisting for us to stay, he said he would make our night “really special” and hand me his personal card and said I would never face a situation like this again, since he seems to be honest and apologized I agreed to stay. I accept his offer for a FREE cocktail, ( my husband didn’t have any other cocktail ) When I finished my FREE cocktail we had dinner and when the bill came there was no FREE rounds of cocktails or ANY sort of discount. I was not looking for freebies, he was the one who offered and didn’t honor his word. I just think after ALL the inconvenience we was put through we would deserve a better treatment from the manager and at least took the drinks from our bill but in instead he decided to treat us like fools. Unfortunately only today I found out he did it to us, my husband didn’t want to upset me yesterday and didn’t complain or even showed me the bill he is a nice gentleman.
The manager totally mishandled the situation and what he did to us was totally unappropriated. He obviously have no respect or appreciation for old customers. For this reason I will NEVER RETURN TO THIS PLACE AGAIN. I don’t need this kinda of lame attitude.
After this pathetic dinner I went upstairs to have cocktails at the MO with is one of my favorite bars and realize that they also offering dinner, I wish I knew and I would have eaten there surely would get a better meal and treatment then I got from Mr. Alessandro Well at least from now on I know were to go when at the Mondrian to get nice view food and cocktails for a half of the price of La Mar
Btw the FREE cocktail the manager offered me he charge me $30 more expensive then the other two cocktails I ordered, ridiculous!

Came back for a quick dinner on Sunday — had hair in our second dish. Okay, it happens... awkward
Had a huge debate about going back tonight and just went for it. My mistake.
We and a couple next to us were sitting around with empty drinks and dirty appetizer plates while another table was getting "compliments from the chef" and all the attention in the world.
Like please don't waste our time and close the place down to serve your friends instead.
My money is very appreciated elsewhere.
The service at Mandarin is miles ahead. Do your self a huge favor and do not bother with this place — unless you know the staff.

We had a wonderful experience on the terrace with its stunning view. Initially, I had a few doubts, especially since we had a table next to the A/C machine which was really loud and one of our starters was missed, but the staff handled the situation graciously and apologized. By the end of the evening, we were treated very well. Also, it was my birthday and they brought a nice little chocolate cake. Alessandro, the restaurant manager, clearly excels at his role and ensured a memorable experience. Thank you—I'll definitely be returning soon!

Best experience impossible!! My boyfriend took me to eat at La Mar to celebrate our anniversary and I can only say that we were more than satisfied. Apart from the food, which was exquisite, the service that Michel gave us will be unforgettable. Michel was very attentive, charismatic and caring with us!! Even after the service my boyfriend and I went out to take photos on the balcony and Michel also came out to take photos when he didn't have to anymore We will surely be returning

We are from North Carolina and came for vacation we reserved party for 3 on Friday night , OMG excellent service from the valet parking to our table . We have the best server her name Thalia , she was so kind and explained to us all the food and drinks . She deserved 5 stars. I highly recommend Lamar .

Excellent customer service! We made reservations for outdoor seating for dinner. The view was impeccable. There were fans outside which made it lovely. The food was delicious. I really loved the empanadas and chicken skewers. The house special with the yellow fish was also a hit! Everyone in my group enjoyed their cocktails and food. It was such a great experience.
