Metropol Restaurant & Bar (Miami)

If I could give a -5 star to a restaurant, I would give it to this one. I have traveled to every state in the US and except for four states I have eaten in many restaurants in 30 years of travel. I have to say this is the worst Customer Service. I’ve experienced in all of my travels. I also frequent Miami since our corporate office is located there.

I went to the restaurant to meet a friend and was looking for something different, and my friend suggested this place since it was close to my hotel. I arrived early and was met by two hostesses. They had both inside and outside seating since I was dressed in business clothes and it was warm and the music was loud. I asked to sit inside and they wouldn’t let me first crazy thing so I decided to sit outside my friend eventually came and we ordered we sat and talked for a while. The waiter was good and we tipped him well. The food was OK just before we left. I got up to use the restaurant restroom inside and the two hostesses said that I cannot use the restroom. It was reserved for guests inside that had reservations only they said that I had to use them all restrooms around the corner second crazy thing I spent $65 on an average meal at an average restaurant that would not let me use the restrooms. I don’t write many reviews, but I had to express the completely poor service in the current climate economy. You would think they would do better study. Say that when a business has poor customer service. The customer will tell on average 10 people about their bad experience. I plan on telling Moore. I hope you spend your money elsewhere and are at a place that values the customer and has reasonable expectations. My recommendation is go somewhere else.

Affordable drinks compared to other spots. Host was good. Waitress was terrible. Put our food in and then continued to talk with her friends, it seems. She basically brought our drinks and kind of dashed them on the table and then disappeared from working our table. A guy brought out our food. Super nice. Looked okay. Got the tostones with ropa la vieja. Tostones were good. The meat was warm at the top and rest of the food cold. The waitress is nowhere to be seen now. My fiance wanted to close out. Didnt see her. Finally, she was behind the bar. My fiance raised his hand a few times to get her attention. Ignored. Then a guy working the floor, finally came to our table and asked what we needed. Told him we wanted to close out. He, said no problem. Then he told the waitress. She sent the bartender. We got the check. 18% gratuity was already added for a waitress who didnt work our table. Waitress was a woman with reddish hair. Didn’t seem fair. Improvement suggestions: get better waitresses or change the tip system.

Automatic tip so waitresse gets lost doesn't check up on you. Drinks are cheaper than competition around so that's good. Food was a mixed review had platinum stuffed repair rieja which was cold but plantain was fresh which is good.

In my experience, I won't be returning. They brought us the wrong dishes and gave me the option to exchange mine, but when they charged me, they put both dishes at the same price. If the same thing happens to you, check the prices against the menu; it's in very poor taste.

We came here on a whim and omg the food was spectacular and the service was amazing. I felt like I was eating at my grandmas house. So so good and the servings were so big too. Anytime I’m in Miami, I will be stopping by this place.

Food was delicious and the service was great as well. I'm not usually in this area but I enjoyed it so much I would definitely make the trip 😉

I ordered a Puertorican Mofongo since Metropol originated from PR. Instead a got a Mangu with five shrimp. Usually you get chicharrón with the Mofongo in this one none. Very disappointing. $27.99 +tax & tip 👎🏻

The food at El Metropol Miami was out of this world. We’ve gone to the Puerto Rico locations and this one is at par or even better. This will be our new first stop when returning to Miami. Perfect blend of Cuban and Puerto Rican culture just like our family. Service was so friendly and professional, felt like you were talking to an old friend. Our server Katrina made us feel welcomed and created an instant connection. Arroz mamposteao and tostones de pana were the highlight of our meal.

We had dinner at Metropol Dolphin Mall. Our server Katerin was very professional, pleasant, she gave us recommendations and made us feel at home.Our food was delicious and hot. We left very happy and satisfied with her service and definitely recommend the restaurant.
