Poke-San at The Citadel

this place is the biggest scam in miami. Never gone out of my way to roast a place so hard but the guy in Goatie and pony tail pretty much just scammed me directly to my face. Order was wrong, paid for extra protein and got literally one scoop of salmon. I’ve bought a lot of stupid stuff in my life but this takes the cake. I’ve never been so heated. the guy was such a douche.

This review is about the service. Miami was just voted the rudest city in the US and every day this is starting to make more and more sense. This was my first time trying this place out, and although the crispy tuna rice was exceptional I can’t say the same thing about the rude cashier. I walk up to the counter and I just stand there waiting while the employee is on his phone, when he finally sees me he stays sitting down and points to the side counter as if he could not to be bothered to walk and greet me. When I walk to the side counter he doesn’t say hello, welcome, this is our menu, how can I help you, absolutely no customer service skills. As I’m looking up at the menu on the board, he points to the menu on the counter, and I ask oh is it a different menu? When he suddenly and condescendingly snaps “it’s the same thing” with a look of annoyance on his face and the harshest tone. At that point, I had to answer back with firmness “this is my first time here sir.” And that’s when his tone somewhat settled. The food might have been delicious, but I probably wouldn’t go back just because of the service. Do better Miami.

The quality of the food is outstanding, I’m never disappointed. Chef Mike and the entire staff are truly warm and welcoming. It’s one of the best places I’ve eaten in all of Miami. So happy that we live close by to this place!

I used to love this place so much! From day 1 I tried the sushi bowls and I would always get the bonsai bowl with lots of extra things added. The good thing is that you add your phone number and your order will be saved for next time so every time we came we just gave our number and pay for the same order over and over.We came today and we did same as always. The bowl came and none of our bowls had the avocado (this had happened to mebefore when they forget one of the ingredients and I have to stand up and they will say sorry and give it) it always made me mad having to stand up and tell them but that’s the reason why I have my saved order and pay such a high price for it. Today I stand up and nicely tell him it’s okay I’ll wait the guy opened 3 avocados (2 we’re bad) cuts them and when he is about to hand them to me he checks my order and tells me no you didn’t paid for avocados and I say didn’t you just repeated my order and he said yes and I tell him I have always had avocados since the first order you can check and he said yes you are right but not this time - I nicely said so if you just repeated all my orders how come didn’t have it this time around and he said I don’t know but I can’t give it to you. I was in shock of his rude attitude that I said to him I have never felt so disrespected from anyone like he just did. He was about to hand it to me and said I didn’t order it when it was him repeating an order that is been in his system over and over for the last 2 years. I’m sorry but you lost us as a loyal customer that used to come 2-3 times a month not anymore. I will never be back for such a bad attitude from the employee. The owner was there too or manager and he didn’t even apologized that was the worst. In other times they were nicely and even apologized for their mistake but I never encounter them making the mistake and talking me to with attitude. I would have gladly paid for it if he was nicely and admitted it was his mistake but he had the worst attitude when I was so nice to him so NO more! There are plenty places like this in Miami so not coming back here ever again. Your bowls are not $10 for you to treat someone like this!

Tried for the first time last weekend and ordered ceviche. Unfortunately fish was not fresh. Also the person taking the order seemed bothered when I placed my order- not very service oriented person.

I ordered food at the Citadel and decided to order a Poké bowl for lunch the next day while picking up dinner. The next day when I opened my $20 bowl I realized that they never put in fish. Straight rip off. Unfortunately, there was very little I can do to follow up as it was the next day but if you order from them, double check to make sure your order is complete and included the sushi in the bowl. I guess I just assumed a poke place would make sure they included the poke in the order. Definitely big help their profit margins to sell salads and change for poke bowls.

Poke-San has become my go to for every time I’m at The citadel. Their ingredients are super fresh and tasty. The staff is amazing and very attentive to you and your needs

Was my fav in Citadel for few years now, but can’t stand the rudeness of team for a while now. Don’t think they want to be there. Shame, won’t be coming back, not gonna support this attitude
