Matheson Hammock Park & Marina is a quiet and scenic locale offering serene natural beauty, calm waters, and a charming marina. It is a lovely area if you don't want to go down to the keys, ideal for relaxing away from the city hustle. Visitors can enjoy the natural salt water tide pool, which is safe for nonswimmers, and explore nature with plenty of places to fish from the shoreline. The park is excellent for kayaking, picnics, bird watching, and people watching, with wonderful views over the water to Miami and Key Biscayne. There are boat ramps, a marina with emanates, and plenty of parking with no charge to enter. The park includes a high-end restaurant open in the afternoons, where the food is amazing, such as the black truffle carbonara, and it is a great place to watch the sunset. The entire park is beautiful and highly user friendly, though some note the restaurant music can be intrusive and parking for cars with trailers needs better supervision.
