Hungry Howie's Pizza & Subs

Not bad.. wings and salads about $10 each so 2 people $50

Hungry Howie's has ruined other pizza places for me. Reason being, their pizza is delicious! Doesn't taste cheap whatsoever, you get the quality you pay for and it is absolutely worth it. Sometimes it can take them a long time to get you your order, but it's mostly because they have a high volume of customers. Worth the wait.

This is a takeout window at a Sunoco gas station.

I ordered my pizza online and “pre-paid”with a credit card. My payment INCLUDED the cost of the pizza, plus a TIP..

When I arrived at the store, the gentleman at the window handed me a clipboard with papers, receipts, and a pen.

It seemed kind of odd to me because I had already paid online.
Which I think is the point of online payment, right?

When I looked at the receipt on the clipboard, it showed my pre-paid payment for the pizza as well as the tip that I had previously paid for online.

The only items left, were an ADDITIONAL line for ANOTHER TIP, and a total.

I should have just handed him back the clipboard and said “I’ve already paid.”
But instead, I foolishly placed a zero on the ADDITIONAL TIP line and wrote in the same total I had previously prepaid by credit card. And then signed.
I now officially felt “guilty” for not providing a second tip..!!

Obviously, the only reason for this, was for me to pay a tip on top of my previous tip.

I then asked if they had any packaged red pepper, and he angrily said they were out, and had no pepper or parmesan cheese. He then said something about waiting on their truck for delivery.

I guess maybe if you pay the additional tip, you have a reasonable chance of getting a package of red pepper with your pizza.

So, I guess we’ve reached a point where they want a tip before they give you service, and AFTER they give you service.

*** I see the owner has responded to my review but conveniently avoided an explanation of WHY they are asking for a SECOND TIP when you arrive to pickup your pizza.

Until then, I would recommend to those who are reading this to avoid tipping online and then consider if a tip is appropriate at the window.

Consistently hot, fresh, and on time with a smile. Never had a good experience with Hungry Howie's until I moved to Mims. Doing something right for sure-

Get you damn menu current. I ordered pie special and howdy bread and 2 liter soda. 15.00 on line, 17 and change when I arrived to pick up. Old lady at window like talking to a stone about it, she let me walk away, that's ok.

Drive up after ordering looked in was very dirty...didn't eat the food after seeing it. Not recommended

I ordered an extra large pizza with extra pizza sauce and extra cheese. It was hard to tell if there was any sauce on it let alone extra. Also, didn’t seem like any extra cheese either. Won’t be going there again after paying over $35 for a dry pizza.

The selections here are great, we come here every winter, and the food is amazing!! Have never been disappointed with Hungry Howies!! Had the Chicken Bacon Ranch Sub. It was the BOMB!!! Just wish there was one in Iowa!!!

I usually get the best pizzas here. A few if the staff has been there for years which makes it nice to see a familiar face .

This is the second time we have ordered from hungry Howie's. I wasn't sure if the first time was just cause we were starving... but we thought highly of the quality of food last time we ordered. And already disowned dominos for the prices after finding out how reasonable the prices are at hungry Howie's. But this time, we were even more impressed. The Mac n cheese and bread was the best Mac n cheese we've ever had.... this time we tried the thin crust, and it was incredible with the ranch seasoning. Just saying, if you haven't tried these guys out yet, they will not disappoint.
