I was not familiar with Austons on 98. I did a search for Oysters nearby and found this hidden gem. It's not exactly on 98, but between 98 and Scenic Gulf Dr. The service and food was excellent! Lots of TVs on the wall--great for football season.

Great sports bar with oysters! Sometimes it can be hit or miss as far as the taste of the cooked oysters but overall it’s a good place to go especially for TVs to watch sports!

The raw oysters were very fresh and delicious. However, the clam chowder we ordered together tasted off, as if it had gone bad. When we mentioned it, they kindly took it off the bill. Everyone was very friendly, which we really appreciated.

Finally tried this place and we'll have to come back now too! The service was above and beyond with answering our questions and the food was ready quickly. We tried the lobster tacos and shrimp wontons and were very happy with both! The sauces bring the dishes to life. There was also live music inside which made for a very cool vibe.

My wife and I ate there last night. Kind of expected it to just be a bar with “bar food”, was so wrong! We had a dozen fresh oysters, I actually had a few of them and I usually hate seafood! Super yummy! I had the chicken dinner, sauce and chicken was really good, so were the cheese grits. My wife had the catch of the day, happened to be Flounder, one of her favorites. The portion that came out was HUGE and she said really yummy, too! Tons of beers on tap and some funny t-shirts for sale too. Great place, may go again tonight!
Well tried calling and putting in an order but whoever answered the phone was frustrated that she couldn't find something on the menu, so what do we do instead of problem solving we play dumb. Now she can't hear me and hangs up. I call back you know to put the rest of my order in and before I say anything she says I still can't hear and hangs up. 🤣 sounds good 👍. Lost a large order and will never be able to give you an actual review.

Sat at the bar with a couple of friends. The bartender was friendly and did not rush us. Lots of beers on tap. Grilled Oysters were great. The reuban was so big I ended up sharing. It was a classic and tasty sandwich.

Stopped in for lunch after doing some shopping across the street. Sat at the bar and was pleasantly waiting on by Kat who was awesome. Order a bowl of chowder, garlic butter crab claws, and a side of cheese grits. Chowder was a little watery then i care for, I love my chowder kinda think you know. Crab claws had good flavor but the star of the mean was the Gouda cheese grits which were so good i almost ordered a second portion. Cool vibe humongous bar with tons a beer options including my fav yuengling. Over all not bad would come back for the grits alone.
